Hamilton Tiger-Cats 2025

Into the second tier of “excellence” (or whatever adjective you want to use). Dont begrudge it per se but it opens up a lot of arbitrariness of who gets on now.
10 year, 4 time all star Henry Waszczuk and , my annual complaint, 8 year veteran GC champ and 2 time all star Howard Fields for example. Lewis Porter is another. You could make a long list.

As someone who once had a number #16 Howard Fields jersey back in the day I would be all in on him being selected to the WOH . As for Waszczuk I’m not on board with him being on the wall someday. Some of my other nominees just off of the top of my head would be Dave Fleming , Archie Amerson , Tony Champion , Steve Stapler , Dave Stala , Andy Fantuz , Mike Morreale , Billy Ray Locklin , Leo Ezerins , Dale Sanderson , Gerald Vaughan , Simoni , Ted Laurent , Pete Dyakowski , Marwan Hage , Rufus Crawford , David Shaw , Speedy B…plus many more that I haven’t mentioned or simply overlooked . Like you said , it’s a long list .

Stapler especially.

I see that Maureen Wilson , the west end city council member opposes tail gate parties because there may be adult beverages being consumed on city property . This is the same woman who would destroy the city golf courses and replace them with hard surfaced pickleball courts . Who elects these MORONS ?

Unfortunately Henry has disgraced himself in pursuit of a television career. He has been convicted multiple times for fish poaching. Not worthy of the wall.

Television fishing personality Henry Waszczuk pleaded guilty in court to fishing out of season for bass and was fined $800.

Waszczuk, co-host of the weekly Canadian Sportfishing show on TSN, was charged by the Ministry of Natural Resources after the incident which took place on June 16, 1995.

Waszczuk was filming a segment for the television show on a lake in Minden, Ont., north of Peterborough. The bass season didn’t begin until later that month.

Last month, both Waszczuk and partner Italo Labignan were fined a total of $1,800 in a Trenton, Ont., court after pleading guilty to joint charges of hooking fish in the body to so they could re-hook them in the mouth and film their retrieval for television.

Waszczuk is also scheduled to appear in court in Burlington, Ontario, next month in order to face a charge of fishing in a fish sanctuary, again for a television segment.

People care about this as much as wall of honour’s Less Brown’s assault charge after breaking a referee’s jaw in touch football game.

Yup, I remember those incidents quite well and thought the same thing as you. Henry repeatedly and knowingly broke the law.

Not much of a role model anymore.

So anyone have anything on the Cats first cutdown to 85 ? I believe that they had until 12 pm today to announce them . Unless I’ve missed something there is nothing reported as of yet .

Here’s the official CFL release tracker, it says
“coming soon” in the Ticat section.

They have until 11:59 p.m. tonight (in other words midnight) to make their cuts. You probably won’t see the cuts posted until around mid-day or later tomorrow.

Okay thanks Pope . I thought they said 12 o’clock today as in noon .

Just updating my depth chart for when I attend camp tomorrow on Day 1. When going over my depth chart I noticed a few things. Weage is no longer listed on cfl.ca transactions or on ticat website… Stanley was added on cfl.ca transactions but not listed on the ticats website and Hebert is not added on either cfl or ticats site. Interesting Ticats announced their draft pick Horrall signing but did not put him on their roster

If we look at our roster last year we hah:

3 QB
4 RB/FB/TE
7 WR
7 OL
6 DL
6 LB
9 DP
1 K
1 P

thats just main roster thats not including PR.

Looking at the roster right now they will cut:

3 QB
2 RB
12 WR
8 OL
14 DL
10 LB
11 DB
1K
1 P

Thats not including the 10 on PR or 1 game either

Good eye, FMFan. You’re right AM DL Spencer Waege, was on the transactions list, as signed, on Dec. 18th and his name has never again appeared on that list. He was, though, on the team website roster, shown as #99, until sometime, pretty recently. Would his name have been removed, deliberately, or accidentally? Either wouldn’t be surprise.

As was the case, at this point last year too, the club fails when it comes to presenting a full roster on its website. AM WRs Dimitri Stanley & Griffin Hebert and draftee DB Ronan Horrall, all three announced as signed, have never, yet, had their names on it, this year.

Also, this year, the Cats are behind, more than half of the other teams, in announcing roster moves which had to be made by he 11:59 p.m., May 10th, deadline, now over 9 hours ago. I believe, last year, they got around to making a announcement very late on the Sunday morning, with regular camp already, then, underway.

Obviously these are very difficult decisions,
Some of these decisions must be heart breaking for young players trying to fufill their dreams of playing Pro Football,
I would hope the staff would talk to each player before they get cut and wouldn’t want to just let them read it off a posted note to their phone.
All these players are elite and probably not used to being cut

BC, Montreal Toronto and Hamilton all still have to announce cuts… I will be at camp session today to see if any of the people above are there..

I figured they will announce cuts during camp this morning or just before it.. they always announced player moves during practice

The good thing about this Grover is another teams cut is another teams gem.. just because one team cuts a player doesn’t mean their football career is over another cfl team might see them and sign them

Good points, Grover.
No question the players are informed, of their being released, by the coaching staff and the requirement would only be that the league be notified of the club’s roster moves by the 11;59 p.m. Saturday deadline.

The club could wait to the last minute to finalize decisions and register them, with the league, very late Saturday night, with an understanding that the league would not publish those roster moves, until the club, itself, announced them. And, the club would not make its cut list public, until the coaches had personally informed the involved players, the opportunity for which might not come about until this morning.
