Ticats & Bo Levi Mitchell have come to terms on a reworked contract for 2025: - $323,800 in hard money, including a 153k signing bonus (almost 100k more hard money than 2024). - Up to 51k in playtime incentives.
According to Farhans tweet
Hervey may have been respected by the other player personnel staff, but i dont think it was the same with all the players. Too many question marks. (E.g. why did Thurman leave?) And why not blow up the football ops? Their results have not been great the past seasons. They might find some good players, only to watch them sign elsewhere in FA where they thrive. I believe Goveia is the answer until i see otherwise.
Fantastic re-sign, great for Bo and the team
To paraphrase Marc Trestman , if you don’t have a solid starting QB , you don’t have anything . The Cats have one !
yah because if your paying him 153k up front as a SB and then 170,800 for playing and if he had the same kind of season last year next year man e are taking that contract to the bank
Perhaps if that contract was registered before Jan. 1st that $153k signing bonus would/could have been on any leftover cap from 2024
Unfamiliar names, to me, but Vandernat should come with quite a thick book of valuable contacts.
Spencer Waege?? As mentioned way up above . . .

HUGE news . . . if you happen to live in Sioux Falls, SD !!
Didn’t the legendary Garney Henley come to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from South Dakota via the Green Bay Packers ?? . . . just wondering . . .
Who as ever argued the opposite ?
We should be very excited about Bo being under contract for under $400k max next year.
That’s unreal value.
So the Cats could’ve had Judge or Varga to upgrade their linebacking corp.
Judge is a dirty player. We can do better.
Get Thurman back.
Honestly would take Varga any day over Judge .
Bingo.
I think a poor record of player retention, or recognizing talent and potential, may be the bigger issues, looking at the past 4 Tiger-Cat seasons.
There were many very good players on the '19 team and, unless I’m wrong, Richard Leonard and Brandon Revenberg may be the only two members of that team who played here last season. And, of course, Leonard wasn’t retained throughout those following seasons. He left, for Calgary, following '19, came back in '22, and is, once again, a pending free agent.
If you compare Winnipeg’s 2019 roster to theirs today, you’ll find about 10 players still with the team, including Collaros, Oliveira, Demski, Jefferson, Wolitarsky and Bighill. Also, like the TiCats, they got back a player who left them, for a year – Kenny Lawlor who, once again is also a pending free agent.
Since their '24 seasons ended, the Bombers have extended the contracts of 4 of their pending free agents. The Tigers-Cats none.
All part and parcel of the poor performance of the prior Front Office. You cannot eliminate people like El Presidente and Soccer Scottie from the mix.
As for pending Free Agents, there are a very few that I would WANT to re-sign. Goveia has to do his due diligence and examine every player currently on the roster - and he can do so with an “outsider’s” eye. Meaning, he doesn’t have any “history” or “favourites” - he can view players as dispassionately as possible and make football business decisions.
Just an interesting follow-up to your post but when looking at that 2019 roster there is a total at last count of 16 players from that team still playing elsewhere in the league and also the NFL .
