Guess Who's Back?: Austin Mack returns to Montreal

MONTREAL — Austin Mack is back in the CFL.

After spending time in the NFL, Mack returns to the Montreal Alouettes, the team announced on X on Monday. Mack signed with the Atlanta Falcons earlier this year in January and was released from the team last week.

Another from Atlanta back to the CFL. Gonna make the Als more dangerous than they are already.

Aside from when they play everyone’s respective team, it’s good for him to be back

A healthy lineup of receivers looks like this…Austin Mack, Tyson Philpot, Tyler Snead, Charleston Rambo, Cole Spieker, Kaion Julien-Grant. Nate Behar as depth seems ridiculous.

That is a devastating group!

Mack is an addition that makes the Alouettes so powerful that all others will be left in the dust. Scouting for talent is essential to a Grey Cup win. It’s the scouting smarty. It’s hard to believe Montreal was counting on Johnny Football to save the team a few years ago.

Don’t forget Reggie White, who is tied for second on the team in receiving TDs (4).

Realistically, though, we won’t have a fully healthy room until the end of the season – Tyson just went on the 6-game. KJG and Snead may be ready by end of August. At that point, we’ll have some very tough choices to make. You can’t dress everyone.

Montreal Alouettes General Manager Danny Maciocia I salute you_👏🏻. Mr. Maciocia you have ascended to the top of your profession in the CFL as the best organization General Manager bar none. The other gm’s across the board are not even close to your expertise

WOW! This is awesome news. I am sad that his NFL opportunity didn’t work out but we know how dangerous he is in a CFL offense.

The CFL is getting more and more interesting as the season progresses! Can’t wait to see him on the field.

I’ll bet it feels great to suddenly have an embarrassment of riches on your hands after you Als fans suffered through that long post-Anthony Calvillo era of talent starved rosters. It’s about time.
