Guess who did NOT cancel the "Meet the Commissioner" event this year? (correction)

ok so I learned through a Mod here that this morning there was a Post made to the CFL site about a “Meet the Commissioner” event for Friday Nov 14th.

they will choose 150 random people (groups too) to go to the location for the event.

It was the one where Randy would come out in his scarf and holding his Tim Hortons coffee and have a townhall state of the league address followed by questions by the fans in attendance . Real raw , raw everything is fine , nothing to see here cookie cutter softball questions and answers from the Commish .

yeah if Johnston had done it, people would at the very least see that he will face his critics. nope, he wants to ignore them.. figures..

Wow, and where has this “major event” ever propelled the league?
Good on you commish to kibosh this whatever the f…. ‘event’ garbage event thing that has obviously mean’t zilch and has had zilch impact to propel the league to any higher level at all. Joke event it’s been for all intents and purposes. They should have just given out lollipops at this “event” in the past really for the effect it’s had.
Look, don’t do BS ok. Don’t have an event without some actual effect. The best thing you can do is simply walk down the aisles at halftime in the Grey Cup and meet some fans in the aisles and converse and don’t make it so formal sort of thing. If you’re going to have an “event”, then produce an “event published report” to report to the league, league reports back to the official “fan event” etc…. chain type of thing… otherwise it’s a complete BS affair which is what it’s been seems to me.
This commish is impressing more and more I will admit.

You face your critics with actions, not with events without an actual report because without any written report you don’t have to do anything, you just have to say “we listened” and let this “listened” die eventually. At least with a published report to the league and the BOG there is a chain or should be a chain a follow-ups.
What I’m saying is the league should have an official committee of fans that have accountability to the league along the lines of this, something along this the league should have, a fans advisory council, example of this in a healthcare setting. The league should have this, maybe they have this but I doubt it. The fans need to be more involved in decision making at the league level I’d say, not some “meet and greet” type of BS. An advisory council, not rocket science CFL. If not a report from the fan advisory council, at least minutes from meetings that the BOG must address and report back to the fan advisory council on a timely manner. Some form of a true accountability to the fans beyond a simple “meet the commish” with no accountability at all:

That is so stupid! Fans who went to the Grey Cup festival always enjoyed the time they had to ask him questions, it was very popular! You’re talking out of your butt..

You are clearly in the minority in this thought.

You can’t realistically call someone willing to take on the role of running a major sports league a coward. Especially one with as many challenges as the CFL.

Also suggesting that he’s afraid of facing the fans….c’mon, you can’t be serious.
