New kickoff formats and under evaluation aside,
I have to wonder when changes to the kickoff, such as simply starting scrimmage without the kickoff with a few exceptions allowed,
will be implemented at the high school and college levels in the US next or not, for it’s not like there are not serious injuries on kickoffs at all those levels in numerous games across the land too.
I’ve heard this has already been in the case in much youth football for years.
Most interestingly, in the UFL kickoffs are encouraged via the kickoff point at the 20-yard line, which is serving as a meat market experiment for chiefly the NFL Godfather.
I don’t think most in American football who claim to be serious about making changes are truly not, especially fans of high school and college football who do so.
Until I were to see more changes made at more the lower levels first before incremental changes are made in the NFL or CFL, I’m certainly not buying into their recommendations for pro leagues as much if at all.
