Good. I'm glad to hear this. He performed very well for us last season when he came in. I think he's a good asset.

Is this the end of Madu or Gable?

I can possibly see Gable being cut/retiring due to his injuries, but I hope not. Having Nic WOULD give us a heck of a one-two punch at RB no matter whom he's paired with...

Good to hear. I always thought that Grigsby was a good power running back and didn’t really want to see him go elsewhere.
If our O-line can just open up some cracks, this guy will run wild. Pair him up with Madu or Gable and receivers we have, the rest of the teams will have their work cut out. Austin knows what he is doing if he signs Nic, and can deal with the subswequent fallout.

Two thumbs up from me on this news!!!

......or maybe the news is CJ is here till 2017???

From Drew Edwards

"the Spectator has learned that Nic Grigsby, who was an East Division all-star last season after splitting time between Winnipeg and Hamilton, has also re-signed with the club. His deal is expected to be made official in the coming days."

Durable back takes a lick and keeps on ticking! Just incase we have another Jesse L injury prone RB ?! Able Gable?!

Maybe Gable and Grigsby can be in the backfield at the same time. Gable blocks as well as a fullback. In 4 receiver sets the receivers could be Tasker, Fantuz, Sinkfield and Watt with the nationals backed up by someone they draft or trade for (plus I think Woodson can play slot). In 5 receiver sets Banks comes in for Grigsby. If this is their thinking, it is not surprising they are not making a super offer to Grant.

And considering that Gable is a pretty good receiver as well, going with two backs still gives them five potential receivers.

Just spit balling here but as you mention CJ is a pretty good receiver, I wonder if maybe Austin is thinking about pulling an Archie Amerson type move here and possibly converting Gable into a slotback/running back hybrid much like Lancaster did with Amerson when he was here. Just think of the possibilities of trying to defense a Cat offense with Fantuz, Tasker and Gable in the slot Grigsby in the backfield and Banks and Sinkfield or Watts outside. I am now beginning to also understand perhaps how Grant is possibly not in Austin's plans for 2015.

It's Official

Grisgby re-signs with Tiger-Cats

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed international free agent running back Nic Grigsby, the team announced today.

Grigsby, a 5-11, 195-pound, native of Los Angeles, California, returns to the Tiger-Cats after spending the latter half of the 2014 season with the team. In 17 starts (14 with Winnipeg, 3 with Hamilton), the 2014 East Division All-Star compiled 890 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns while adding 58 receptions for 473 yards and a touchdown last season.

Prior to landing in the CFL, the former Arizona Wildcat spent time with NFL’s Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well as the United Football League’s Las Vegas Locomotives.

Grigsby is so close to signing the ink actually got on the paper. we'll see what Nic can do with a training camp under his belt.

Cornish has nothing over the Cats backfield. Nice signings. Now, o-line and DBs????

CJ and Nic bring different skills to the table. Why make them compete? Use them both extensively!
