Not only a superbore but way too much hype and over priced. They booed T Swift and cheered billionaire Donnie
Absolutely nothing wrong
half time show was the highlight of the game.
( yikes, eh)
I’m not an music aficionado, but that was the worst halftime show I’ve ever seen.
One of the performers is now banned from the NFL for supporting a Palestinian and Sudanese Flag during the performance.
Is that because it’s an NFL policy only or is because it’s US policy I wonder .
If a brunette or redhead came into view I wouldn’t turn away…
That performer was a member of the show but went off script to do his own thing.
The decision has zero to do with US Government policy.
It’s the Super Bowl or any given NFL game, for which the NFL runs the show.
The NFL has said that the individual will receive a lifetime ban from NFL stadiums and events.
The NFL and Roc Nation, the entertainment company that runs the halftime show, confirmed Sunday that the flag was not part of the planned halftime show. The protestor hid the flag before unfurling it mid-performance, the league said, saying that “no one involved with the production was aware of the individual’s intent.”
You don’t have to be a music aficionado to come to that conclusion. It mostly wasn’t even music, but the reality is that young Canadian kids would be going just as nuts over it if it were performed here.
Oh no, did I miss the Crapfest which is called the Super Bowl??? Oh darn!!!
I even heard that the Orange Jabba the Hut, left at halftime.
Yes it was not a great game and some CFL fans are delighted that it wasn’t as exciting as the Grey Cup. But don’t forget that one sided game in 2023 when the Als beat the Argos in a one sided game.
The Super Bowl in Canada had 16.6 million viewers watched at least some part of the broadcast, which peaked with an audience of 9.6 million during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show. Despite the viewership downturn on traditional television, the release indicated that TSN’s streaming audience was up 95 percent from last year to become the most-streamed broadcast in company history.
The CFL take note - TSNs streaming was up 95 Per Cent !!
I am not a rap fan whatsoever, but based on the hype KL was receiving leading up to the game, not just the feud with drake, but the accolades he was getting from music critics and such (Pulitzer prize winner), I thought I’d give it an honest attempt to watch and learn…couldn’t understand a word he said…not…a…single….word…
And being a car guy my thoughts went immediately to ‘that’s a rare grand national that got turned into a clown car’…
Good bands that have played at half time Superbowl
- 2010: The Who
- 2009: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
- 2008: Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
- 2006: The Rolling Stones
- 2005: Paul McCartney
- 2002: U2
- 1997: “Blues Brothers Bash” featuring Dan Akroyd, John Goodman and James Belushi (also featuring “The Godfather of Soul” James Brown and ZZ Top)* *
I think we put to much emphasis on the championship game. We think because it’s the biggest game of the year, that it will be the best game of the year because of all the hype. Once they start the game, it’s just another game. It could be a great game or a terrible game. I don’t think it should be a barometer for which league is more exciting.
I didn’t watch the grey cup this year but in general i prefer CFL to NFL mostly because of flow. I could care less about having an extra down or not it really doesnt matter! (same with field size and goal posts). The problem with the NFL in particular is that the referees turned into part time lawyers and the game is bogged down by dumb calls. These days theres less BS in soccer than the NFL.
The last couple of years the CFL had great half time shows but both leagues usually miss the mark with my musical tastes.
That is very true in my case, certainly.
They could only hit the mark with my musical tastes if they could raise from the dead Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Buddy Rich, Dave Brubeck and so on. . .

One of the news panels last night said they should go back to Rock and Roll - open with AC/DC close with the Stones
Strong Baby Boomer vibes here - get over it, it’s not happening, those ships have sailed as have others, the demographic will continue to be the youth
Why not do something to honour Motown or Rock and Roll.
