Frankly
I really enjoyed the beat down
A lot of people did. For some reason we celebrate bashing success in sports
Yes . At halftime .
One thing is for sure, it has put an end to the “3peat” hype.
Nah, my bad. It was very early morning and, as my dear departed dad would say, “I opened my mouth before I put my brain in gear.”
The beatdown for the 1st 3 quarters was fabulous
The half time show was
I thought the outcome was terrific . The reason being that just like last years Super Bowl I came away a big winner again when my parlay wager of a Philly money line win and the game going over 48.5 pts came thru like a charm .
Philly cheesesteak on you Bobo
Not my cup.of tea for music but am i wrong in saying it was meant for an audience of one?
Like you I also appreciate a good defensive game, but this wasn’t one. By a good defensive game I mean one where the teams slug it out in the trenches and one team wins say 10-7. Hard hitting smashmouth football.
This was a schoolyard bully beating up on an small child, which I never like to see.
I saw it as the big bad bully finally getting the much deserved cumuppance… not that i see KC as a bully and i was rooting for the threepeat
The Super Bowl promised to be close and of course it wasn’t . The result reminded me of the 1986 Grey Cup .
. The year was 1986 and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats were decided underdogs in the Grey Cup against the heavily-favoured Edmonton Eskimos. Most pundits predicted a one-sided affair – and they were right – Hamilton won 39-15 in one of the biggest upsets in Grey Cup history. The Cat Defence dominated much like the Eagles . Teams on both sides of the border will try to copy the Eagles Front 4 style with no blitzes needed in the game .
Interesting. I just don’t watch U.S. football anymore. Now that I’ve become fully engaged with the 12-man three down game, I’m just not interested in the game down here.
To me that’s like saying that I really prefer blondes so I never look at redheads or brunettes.
Blondes, redheads and brunettes oh my
Me to. I haven’t watched a Super Bowl in years. I’m not anti American or anti NFL. Just can’t get interested in it and all the hype. Must be something wrong with me.
So you prefer a game where both teams’ defences play well.
I was satisfied watching one team’s defence play outstanding. My favourite plays to watch in a football game are a pick 6 interception and QB sacks. Got both last night.
Stream of consciousness. . . favourite play in a baseball game is an inside-the-park home run.
Yes, a curb stomping doesn’t excite me in any game in any sport unless of course it is my team doing the stomping. It doesn’t matter if one team plays outstanding defence or oustanding offence, it’s just not a competitive game or fun to watch for me.
Baseball favourite play? I might have to think more on that one. It could be the insider tater you suggest. Other possibilities for me include spectacular diving catches against the wall or not and probably my favourite would be a deep outfielder throwing a frozen rope to the plate to nab the baserunner by a hair.
One certainly doesn’t need to be anti-American to understand 11-4 is usually a snore compared to 12-3.
I agree the game was not competitive. But I loved watching the Eagles’ defence.
The pick six was a great read by the DB who ran it in for a TD.
The other interception was a terrific catch by the LB.
The six sacks, I believe all with just a four man rush, were superlative.
So that is why I enjoyed watching it.
