Grey Cup 2023 - Plea to TC fans

Count me out. I don’t like either team.

Argos win Cup In Hamilton … How pathetic is that!? … I can’t think of any worse outcome to the CFL season … Hopefully their playoff run will be like the Jays and Leafs annual meltdown!

We’ll be there, absolutely.

But unless BC gets in, my crew will all be cheering for the East.

Been there done that. No big deal.

Wont be the end of the world. Having sat through the 1996 game at old Ivor Wynne,( despite the bad guys winning,) it was not an Argos crowd, and it was fun hearing the Western fans using our Argos “chant.”

Sorry but I’m not paying $400 to watch the Argos win the cup in Hamilton. I have 5 tickets available if anyone wants em!

I’m treading in sacred territory, would appreciate a moment of thought. With only 3 (soon to be 4) Grey Cup games held in Hamilton since 1945, 1972, 1996 & 2021. I do recall hearing all the complaints that Hamilton citizens had about never getting a home Grey Cup game. Remember 79 years with only 3 home Grey Cup games played in your city. Regardless if your team is in the game or not, boycotting the game will suggest the CFL was right to pass Hamilton over for so many years. Please, I implore you for all that’s right. Understand this is an event displayed across Canada and many places throughout the world, the event itself is bigger than your beloved team.
If you cannot bring yourself to attend, then please offer them to a big brother / sister type charity early enough to gift a person who would otherwise never have an opportunity to attend a game let alone a Grey Cup game. Please don’t display an empty stadium to the world because the Ti-Cats failed you.

sounds like you already paid the $400/ ticket.

so you need to decide how much is going to cost you not to go. (as you aren’t’ getting your $2K back).

I could easily get face value for them but thank you!

if you could easily get face value for them, do it, and do it now.

I’m seeing prices way below face on multiple different sites.

I will! The price I paid for my ticket is less than ticketmaster is charging for a ticket in my section. I am not worried at all, I haven’t even listed the tickets.

if you haven’t even listed, how do you know you’ll get face?

(serious question).

have you compared the current prices (not TM prices) for tickets in your section?

I can see all the prices. Ticketmaster face value. Ticketmaster resale. Stubhub resale.

These are electronic tickets?
There are rules placed on resale and you may not be able to sell at the price you want nor will you be able to sell without using a third party like ticket master as a go between

Just a heads-up.
The Ticketmaster resale feature will not let you go below face value and right now it won’t let you go lower then 110% retail price, plus fees for the Cup.
So the , now sold out, added endzones retailed last month for $240 fees included.
The lowest you can list them for is $321 ( $270 + $51 fees).
So it seems Ticketmaster resale won’t let you sell them for what you paid for them right now.
This might make them harder to sell, for people who decide not to go.

it was even worse for the people who wanted resell last year.

On Ticketmaster can you send your electronic tickets to someone? I’ve been allowed to do so for concert tickets. I imagine collecting $$$ while sending tickets may be difficult without someone getting ripped off.

yes, and I believe that is how many are selling GC tix. Lots of tickets for sale on various platforms outside of TM - and cheap!

but how you actually get your tickets may be another story. Likely will have to do a transfer through TM, but sell outside of TM. (or list for what TM forces you to through their platform).

Yes, when you list them for resale, if they sell, Ticketmaster automatically sends them to the person who bought them electronically. I’ve only ever used Ticketmaster to resell tickets.
