Greetings From Southern California

Hello All,

Just wanted to say hello. Because of Sirius radio and DirecTV, I have become a fan of the CFL. While I live in the US (Southern California) and have never gotten a chance to see a CFL game live, I enjoy the season and follow it through to the Grey Cup final. My first game had Winnipeg playing, and became a fan. I also am glad that they play during the summer, so I do not have to endure NASCAR and Tennis on TV. Even after the NFL season starts, I still follow the CFL season, and Winnipeg in particular, until the end of the season (November?)

I for one, would love to see the Super Bowl winner vs. the Grey Cup winner play each other. Maybe, they can play 1/2 of the game under NFL and the other 1/2 under CFL rules.

Also, I went to the University of Southern California. Does anybody know if any former USC players are on the CFL rosters?

Looking forward to a great season.

hey usc4dav its great to see that americans are noticing the game we all love, just keep watching the league and you will fall in love with it. The NFL it is not, there aren’t the flashy millionare stars the NFL has, and there aren’t the type of personalities there are in the NFL (not since Milt that is ) The CFL is a truly Canadian game, and it is one of a kind, it has some different rules that at some times seem funny, but thats what lots of fans really enjoy is the uniqueness of it.
Some day you need to come to a game in winnipeg, it truely i beleive has a college atmosphere about it and it’s one of a kind. Just remember WEST SIDE SUCKS

GO BLUE!  :rockin:

David, if you ever decide to come to a Blue Bomber game, do it anytime after 2011 when our new stadium is done ( .... our current stadium is a bit of a disgrace!

Jetsin07, im sorry but the bombers probably won't let you back in the new stadium...

...and frankly im sure none of us real Bomber fans want you back either especially that we are winning again.

Now your problem is the stadium? Why don't you go out and build it yourself to get it done faster.

Hello All,

Well thanks again to the magic of Sirius, I got to listen to the Bombers take their first step to the Grey Cup! A great win at home. They are now in first place in their division.

I have a question for the board. I still do not know all the rules of the game. How does a team manage to score 1 point? If someone hear can explain it to me, I would appreciate it.

Looking forward to a great Bomber season!

Because the goal posts are at the front of the endzone a ball is still live if a fieldgoal is missed. The returner has the option to either run the ball out of the endzone or concede a single point. If a punt goes into the endzone then again the returner has the option to run it out or concede a single. After a single is conceded the receiving team's offense then starts at their own 35 yard line.

Here's a link to a website that has the CFL rulebook online - - although it hasn't been updated to include rule changes for 2010.

Hello All,

Thanks for the info on the "Single Point" rule. Now, I am hoping that someone here can point me in the right direction. I am looking for a replica game jersey. The types that we can get here in the states. Current players, current numbers. The only one that I have found on the Bombers website, are either the offical game day jersey, at almost $200.00, or plain jerseys without any numers at all. Typically here, you can get replica jerseys for about $80.00 (If I spent any more on a single jersey, my wife would have a fit!). Thanks for the help!

I think you can have a name and number added to the plain jerseys. Here's a link to the contact page: I would suggest emailing the Bomber store and asking about that.

They have a few here:
