good news bad news

The good news for you guys is that Lumsden will probably be the rushing leader next year the bad news is that since you hired Marcel Bellefeuille the money that you spent on Casey Printers and the trade for Frank Murphy will be all for not as your passing game will consist of 3-7 yards every time. He slowed down what had always been a great offence and a great qb in Calvillo and the Als and the Riders had to suffer with his play calling.

how things have been going lately, 3-7 yards passing a down doesn't sound that bad...

God no. Don't even joke about it

I think 7 yd passes had something to do with the terrible O line Montreal had . You cant throw deep with D linemen in your face all the time !!!!

We need a three to five steamboat line.

No it was the same with the Riders who had one of the best lines.

Somehow I think Bob O'Billovitch and Charlie will have something to say about all this. If they have not already. No offensive co-ordinator will be allowed to jeopardize the teams strength.....I hope.

mr62cats is right on.

Give OB / Charlie/ & Bellefeuille some

credit and a positive chance rather than

this doom and gloom negativity.....!!

Did anybody notice how fast Bellefeuille
was snapped up by the Ticats?

He was the first guy Charlie interviewed
in what was to be a week of interviews.

Before any reports of anyone else being interviewed
Obie is confirming that Bellefeuille was being hired.

I will trust Obie's judgement.

Charlie and Obie obviously got a commitment from Marcel
about the kind of Offence that they want for the Ticats

or else why would they hire him?

Hey welcome to the ticat chat board or whiner room.

If you compare us to any other chat forum we have the most complainers and also the most active forum.

(bigi) The good news for you guys is that Lumsden will probably be the rushing leader next year the bad news is that since you hired Marcel Bellefeuille the money that you spent on Casey Printers and the trade for Frank Murphy will be all for not as your passing game will consist of 3-7 yards every time. I don't buy this. You're comparing apples and oranges. Bellefeuille may be our OC, but he will work under the control of Taffe and O'Billovich. I think that together, these men will go out of their way to insure a competitive offense for Hamilton.

Three and seven yard passes and even screen passes are not always a bad thing either, depending on who the personnel is that executes your offense. I think the cats will do well with the short pass game as long as they don’t fully depend on it, and, believe me, they won’t.

Presumably Obie and Charlie know a thing or two about football so one has to figure that they did their due diligence with Marcel B and consequently know what they are getting with him in terms what he can or can't do with offensive systems.

Secondly, I always thought that the job of the coach and his staff in any sport is to design systems and plays that optimizes the skills and strengths of the players on the roster.

So lets keep an open mind and see how the 2008 season unfolds particularly as it relates to how creatively Marcel and Charlie deploy the skills of Printers, Lumsden and Cauley et al to the best advantage.

Hey don not forget to add TAY CODY to that list.

:P :P :P

…I thought our offence in '07 was counting streamboats 'cause they sure weren’t blocking ? LOL
