Mack Hughes with a good finish at the RSM Classic
Finished Tied 5th
Paid $319,833
I find it funny in a way butâŚRory talks about mental game but does things that self sabotage himself all the time. Ditch the baggage. Move on. Because the only putt you need to worry about - is the next oneâŚ
Probably not much going on in golf until January after this week.
Below is a recap of the tourny in which Mack Hughes finished 5th. Maverick Mcnealy won his first ever tourny, but even if he hadnât he would be fine financially as his father is the co-founder of Sun Microsystems.
In the final womenâs tourny, essentially their tour championship, someone I have never heard of won $5 million this week, more than almost all menâs tournaments. Brooke Henderson finished 8th.
And finally, everyoneâs favourite, Patrick Reed, won for the first time since 2021.
Good for Hughes to get a sniff of the cash at the PGA tourney this weekend.
Also, looks like Brooke Henderson found aspects of her floundering game. Brooke was pretty much broke on the course last few months - finishing up the track or below the cut-line.
But she closed hard and didnât squander too many opportunities with a T5 and some good money for her family corporation.
At 27 Brooke appeared worn out and tired at most events this year. Lots of squabbling with her sister as almost every shot turned into a tedious seminar. Didnât help that her putter is absolute rot gut.
Hopefully, her good close translates to a nifty start in 2025.
Brooke is already the most decorated Canadian pro golfer of all-time (men or women)
Another major and perhaps squeezing out 2 or 3 more tour victories will elevate her to elite world class status.
You always write about her squabbling with her sister, but I have never seen any of that although it could be true.
Brooke definitely the #1 Canadian golfer of all time with two majors. I think there will be more for her in the future.
Social media star Bryson Dechambeau with a unique hole in one that apparently many have been following:
It amazes me how South Korea and Thailand in particular have been able to continuously churn out elite female golfers.
