I can never complain when a lefty wins.

Lefty as meaning nothing to do with politics, correct?

And exactly:
“But with three top-15s in his last five starts, including a T-8 at the PGA Championship, MacIntyre was trending.”

A summary of a very difficult US Women’s Open. Korda and Henderson didn’t even make the cut.

The highest purse in women’s sports in a stand alone event at $12 million and the highest first place cheque at $2.4 million as well.

A tad on the late side but below is a summary after the first round:

WOW!!!
Scheffler chases his ball all around the 9th fairway and takes a triple bogey,
Hadwin taps in for a par and now tied first @ -8 at the turn

Saw that before switching to football. I don’t think Scottie is done for the weekend though.

Hadwin’s weekend meme is no doubt the universal image of “the choke sign”
Even The Bickering Mighty Might, Brooke Henderson had to scramble like the dickens to make the cut on the number in the abbreviated (3 rounds) LPGA event in New Jersey. Henderson went 66-73

Hadwin started 4 behind Scheffler but after 4 holes he is 2 under and Scheffler is one over. Hadwin now only one behind.

Scotties season for the ages continues.

Haven’t seen anything like this since Tiger.

On to Pinehurst and the US Open

Hadwin went from -9 and tied with Scheffler for the lead near the end of the front nine to a -4 finish. He still finished solo 3rd as everyone else except Morikawa faded.

$1.4 ain’t bad at all. Just a bit less than MacIntyre as winner of the Canadian Open.

Hadwin also received the lone spot for the British Open that was up for grabs so a very good week for him.

Honestly thought Hadwin was going to go full choke but he tenaciously hung on for 3rd. Turned off the TV after seeing Adam continually driving into the nasty rough Jack Nicklaus set up for errant golfers.
Shane Lowry really got bit badly by Jack.

Hadwin fired 72-72-74 his final 3 rounds which amazingly was still good for 3rd. Pretty obvious Adam can’t stand up to Scheffler - but then again, few can.

A recap of the week in golf:

Strom shooting 60 out of nowhere in the final round was pretty amazing.

It looks like these two will be representing Canada at the Olympics.

US Open preview:

I’ll be watching #1 golfer on the PGA Tour Scottie Scheffler vs #1 golfer in the world Brooks Koepka (5 majors since 2017-no one else more than 2). I have a feeling they may end up going head to head on Sunday.

Unknown whether Jon Rahm will be able to go due to foot infection. Let’s hope so.
