GO Transit Day Pass Deal on Sunday

I was checking the GO website to see if they had any plans to run GO Trains from Hamilton - so far no mention of it - however I did notice they have special GO Train day pass rates for Sunday because of the Santa Claus Parade that people can take advantage of to go to the football game!

From Aldershot it is just $10 for a day pass for an adult, $5 for children and seniors. That means you can get round trip service from Aldershot for those prices! That’s about half price!

I wonder how it would work for those of us bussing to Aldershot then taking the train.. should we just pay for the bus to Aldershot or just say screw it and buy round trip service from Hamilton?

I was wondering the same thing. I checked the GO website and a day pass from the Hunter Street station to Aldershot is $9.70 making it $19.70 to make the connection at Aldershot. The express bus day pass from Hunter Street to GO Union station Bus terminal is $20.70 and runs every 20 minutes on this Sunday. The only thing with the bus is it can still get stuck in traffic, normally I wouldn’t think about that on a Sunday morning but with everything else going on in Toronto I’m not sure.

If you can get to Aldershot that's a great deal.

That a fantastic deal!!! That’s %50 off the regular rate of $20… No excuses people… get to Toronto Sunday… Cats need you!!!

thanks for the info… was just debating whether to drive and park in TO or drive to Mississauga than take GO. at 50percent off that’s a great deal

thanks for the heads up. My wife and I will take GO now

Keep in mind the time restrictions for the Santa Claus parade deal

Lakeshore West GO line

Take advantage of trains every 30 minutes between 10:04 a.m. and 6:43 p.m.

I wanted to go and party earlier than that allows. The 10:04 Aldershot train gets you at Union station at 11:10

An 11:10AM arrival sounds good to me. After all they can't start serving anywhere until 11:00AM - so an 11:10AM arrival at Union Station means being in a bar or the 'Tailgate Party' next to the stadium by 11:20AM.

If you look at the schedule, the train leaves Aldershot every hour beginning at 7:04 am, before leaving every half hour beginning at 10:04 a.m

You can get to Toronto as early as 8:10 a.m if you want.

It will be the best way to go. Not only do we have the parade and the 2 games but down town Toronto still has lots of construction. It is a mess.

Yes, but at $20 instead of the $10 Santa Claus parade price.

You can buy your train tickets in advance, I got mine this morning.
They are good for all trains , all day, this Sunday

Are you sure?

Last I read, I thought it was only starting at 10:04 train, and not before.

A buddy even phoned GO and was told the same thing.

I thought I was misinterpreting that 10:04 statement as service then starts every 30 mins as opposed to every 60.

Why would that GO guy say $10 pass is only good starting at 10:04?

Maybe I’ll call again.
