A few people in this or other announcer threads have mentioned Russ Jackson and Leif Pettersen as good colour commentators. Well - Captainkirk on Ti-Cats chat just posted this video of a single drive in a 1979 game against the Eskimos with both of them involved.
OK so Pettersen was still playing and is on the field not in the booth - but it is Russ Jackson doing the colour to Don Chevrier's play-by-play on this drive. Thought this may be an interesting watch and listen for some of you so you can hear what Jackson sounded like as a colour commentator.

(And once you pull up that link there is an entire menu of old CFL videos down the right side that may be of interest to some.)
Remember Sean Millington??? he wasn’t bad either.
I wondered what happened to him and the other night I’m watching HBOs “Hell on Wheels” and guess who makes an appearance - Sean Millington - As soon as I saw him I said to myself “I know that guy from somewhere” and sure enough the closing credits his name came up.
BUT, he was tremendous in interviews and other in depth pieces.
Calgary is playing today. TSN should get Walby to go to Spalumbo’s with the Stamps o-line and talk food, health, preparation and such. get some insight into the character of these guys. Put together a 5 to 7 minute piece and air it in the pre game.
Next week is Labour Day. Get Walby to interview a couple of Cats and a couple of Argos about the rivalry, then go hang out at Scott Park with some fans. Put together a 5 to 7 minute piece and air it in the pre game.
Walby would be PERFECT for this sort of thing. He’s a football guy through and through and he understands the game and it’s routine at such deep levels. He has tremendous passion as a warrior and a teammate which always shows, and he’s a great story teller with charm and a sense of humor.
