Let's give Jamie Boreham some credit for doing a good job as emergency repacement in the game vs. Winnipeg. Also I thought Fleming had his best game to date.
You saved us Jamie!
Hope the back feels better.
As much as I’d love to agree, we didn’t really see as much of him as would allow us to say that he’s doing well.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing.
he kicked an 11yd field goal big deal
Ageed....puting pressure on him to step up his game...is a good thing.
What happened to Myers anyway? I missed the first bit of the 1st quarter and never got the whole story other than Boreham had to be flown in at the last minute for some reason.
Boreham's kickoffs, incidentally, looked better than anything Myers has done. In the last couple of games Myers has been consistently short.

Yup…Fleming had a good game last night…
and Boreham is now 5 out of his last 6 attempts…(just missed a 47 yarder a few weeks back)…he’s solid on kick-offs too…
Good job all around by the lads!..
Hey who is Boreham related to anyway. He's a terrable fieldgoal kicker, but still has a job.I thought Lancaster said if you cant do your job your gone.Than at the end of the 2nd quarter their was ..02 seconds left on the clock and the refs let the clock run out.If they would of left that ..02 seconds on the clock Boreham would of had to kick I believe a 47yd field goal.Do the refs feel sorry for him too.Hmmmmmmm.I guess the refs no he would of missed it,so they just let the clock run out to save him some embarassement.
The Cats were responsible for the clock running out on the last play of the half. The play was whistled in with 8 seconds left, and the Cats were not in position. 4 seconds were wasted prior to the snap. Poor clock management was the culprit on this one. Jamie made his FG, his converts and some solid kickoffs and contributed to a solid team effort.
ya well we have 3 kickers right now someone has to go.Nice known' ya Jamie.Hopefully that mystery injury doesnt come back this week.
Im sure he tweaked his back on one of those kickoffs…
ya probably,I must admit he did a good job on kickoffs, but we cant have 3 kickers doing 3 different jobs.Like I said nice known' ya Jamie.
ToddKing, do you think you've made your point?
In case it's not clear what that point is, let me summarize. You're a Ticat fan, posting on the Ticat fan website, repeatedly attacking a Ticat player who did everything that was asked of him last night, in a game that your team won through a lot of determined effort. According to the best info available, that player has been suffering from back spasms, but stepped up on short notice when requested by his team. That player also played hurt through much of 2004 (cracked ribs!), and missed some easy field goals that season, and as a result you and others have hated him ever since and feel there is never an inappropriate time to make that clear, and even to publicly question his integrity (in another thread) despite having no actual knowledge of the true extent of his current pain.
Is that about right?
My point is that Jamie is 10for16 on fieldgoals.I dont care what he did in 2004 this is 2006.His below average fieldgoal kicking cost us 1 game for sure possably 2.When the offence brings the ball down the field and your field goal kicker misses by a mile that takes confidance away from the team, which is one thing we dont need right now.I never said I hated Jamie I said hes not a very good fieldgoal kicker.Maybe we should clarify the rules in this website, because any time anybody says anything negative about the team you get defensive. Its called sports talk, when the team or player isnt playing well we get on them.If you dont like what I have to say dont read it.Im not changing my point of view,if your not doing your job you should be gone.Im not the only one who is not happy with Jamies kicking so maybe its Jamies kicking that has people talking. Why is it when Jamie is kicking bad he seems to have an injury.Seems like excuses to me.
Boreham cost us nothing this year. If your team is relying on a field goal to win or tie a game then in my opinion the team as a whole is to blame for being in that situation.
Has Boreham kicked good? No, but at least he did well this game.
thats what fieldgoal kickers are for,to win close games, remember the 1999 eastern final when Ozzy kicked the game winning fieldgoal with no time left on the clock.Boreham did cost us a game this year.Play well one game play bad another is called inconsistent,
My mistake, ToddKing. In the thread titled “Boreham playing!”, when you posted the following …
… I mistakenly interpreted that as you publicly accusing a player of faking an injury when you presumably have no real knowledge of the facts. When clearly all you meant to say was that he has gone 10 for 16 in his field goals.
Thanks for clarifying. Now the path forward is clear. All we have to do is get rid of those players who have played at least one really bad game this year. Let’s see, that would be how many … ?
Expat - If you think he's the only one thinking that way you are mistaken.
Lets look at the facts...
-
Jamie injurs his back the day after Myers is brought in.
-
Jamie cant practice for 3 weeks saying he needs "doctors approval" to come back.
-
Myers gets hurt and Jamie is well enough to kick.
Im drawing my own conclusions on this one, if im wrong im wrong, but it looks quite fishy to me.
