I'm a Lions fan from BC that is thinking about traveling to Ontario in September, and I thought I'd catch the Leos-Ticats game in Guelph on the 7th.
I'd be spending the day in Hamilton on the Friday, and then heading up to Guelph for the game. Does the team run buses from Hamilton to Guelph? What is the best way of getting there (other than renting a car?) Are there trains? Being from BC, I'm not familiar with your transit systems, etc, and I figured I'd ask here.
Check out the link below, there is a phone number you can call for precise info. We take the bus but we got our passes prior to the season. Hopefully fans can still buy individual tics anytime. There are no trains or airplanes or boats to Guelph, other than the bus, fans have to drive or carpool. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the offer, but I’m trying to connect with a cousin I haven’t seen in a decade or more and who just happens to be a diehard Ticats fan. If I can’t reach him within a day or two, I may just take you up on your offer though (and extend you the same courtesy should you be coming out to the coast for Grey Cup next year!)
I’m really excited to be heading to the Hammer. I have some academic work to do at McMaster & the Hamilton Public Library, but I’m negotiating extra time to take in the CFL Hall of Fame, the warplane heritage museum, Dudurn castle, bookstores, the art gallery, etc.
I’ve also been told that if you light a candle in front of Chris Schultz’s house your team automatically wins that weekend and if he shouts at you to get off his lawn, you always cover the spread. Fingers crossed!
8) "jamescalhoun", if you're going to Schultz's house to light that candle, you will have to travel out to Burlington,
because that is where Schultzie lives (Gods Country) !! <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D --> <!-- s:wink: -->:wink:<!-- s:wink: -->

I just wanted to drop a line and say thank-you to those that offered help, both online and in person. I've settled all my travel issues and will be sitting three rows behind the Lions bench, wearing a new Andrew Harris jersey, belting out 'Roar you Lions Roar!' after every TD. (If you throw your beer, please leave the lid on at least, so that I have a sporting chance of catching it).
Looking forward to the cat fight.
And if any of you lads ever needs to contact someone about coming to Vancouver for a road-trip, Grey Cup, etc, please drop a line over at Lionbackers. We're just as friendly and helpful as you lot...well....once we've had our first skinny low-fat chai mocha latte of the day....
