Get rid of home-and-homes

It doesn't work in football too well IMO. I think they should only have home and home around labour day.
I can assure you people in Winnipeg and Edmonton love having the rematch. Makes for a cool dynamic with the short week an all. Aside from that time though, no need for them.

I agree. Let’s have the Labour Day home & home between the classic rivals, but not otherwise. Spread it around and keep it interesting.

I have to think the Hamilton-Winnipeg schedule this year was a computer mistake that nobody at head office caught; I just can’t believe anyone consciously thought it was a good idea. These are the teams that were going head to head for a playoff spot on the last day of the season in 2009, the Big Bomber Bishop Bust. How could anyone think it was a good idea to get that matchup completely over with before the bye weeks - a four-game matchup at that??

But yeah, without Hamilton and Toronto butting heads a couple of times around Labour Day, Calgary and Edmonton doing the same, and the Banjo Bowl as round 2 between us and Sask, it just ain’t the CFL.

And end the season with three head-to-head inter-divisional games, one vs. each other team. Talk about meaningful games - every one a “four point” game.

I would only keep the Labour Day and the following weekend.
As for getting rid of hte rest, absolutely but in order to do that we need more teams, expansion and hurry please before we all die off.

no we dont need more teams to do that. A little more effort on the part of schedulers and we can have a 90% balanced schedule where the the back 9 almost mirrors the front 9, save for labor day h&h. Suare they might have to juggle a little due to stadium availability, but they dont have to solve it with more h&h

Labour Day home & home's are great as they are great for boosting attendance. Other than that, they only create more monotony. Whats even worse is when a team comes to town one week and then you realize the next home game is against that same team 3 weeks later. What results is usually some pretty conservative and ugly football. Not to mention playing the same team so often only magnifies the problems of an 8 team league. The above mentioned farce with Winnipeg and Hamilton this year was just moronic and whomever was in charge of that should have been immediately fired.

With only seven teams to play, there are only so many differnet combinations for a scheduler.
That’s also why we have such an unbalanced sched with some teams playing another 4 times per year.
No one wants that to continue as it becomes stale.
I repeat, more teams needed.

last week ,this week and in semi if bc loses

last week, edmonton played winnipeg, not sask.

if edmonton makes the playoffs, they will have played sask 3 times in 4 weeks.
