Garrett McIntyre To Sign With NFL's Jets

Garrett McIntyre is on his way to the NFL. According to the Spec, he's signing with the Jets. This is one big hole we need to fill.

Noooooooo, one of my favourites

definate bummer

:( :( :(

This sucks, time to sign Huntley.

A loss but Baggs and Hickman (at least) aint bad either.

It will be hard to find someone with a "motor" like Garrett has but good luck to him.

Good luck and I'm sure the door will be open if he wants to come back.

I'm so happy for him. He played his heart out for us and I am sorry to see him go, but I wish him all the best.

Well said.

Pat Lynch(the old guy)

Pat: I agree.

Gotta love this guy's desire. What a set of wheels! Always had the motor running full out. Best wishes in the new endeavour, and please think of us if there's a need to come back to the CFL. Good luck, man! You'll be missed by all of us in Box J, Row 4.

He is great player and even better Person

This is a huge loss for us and huge gain for the Jets

This reason we have to stop Letting players go down south in the Option year of there deals.

Unfortunately if there were no option year, players would not come here in the first place and instead would go to the AFL, AFL2, UFL or IFL.

That, 15 championships, is almost the way it is now, and the way it will be soon.
The only players who will have the “escape to the NFL” option at the end of this coming season will be those, for whom 2012 will be the option year of their contract – a contract which was signed prior to ratification last summer of the new CFL/CFLPA agreement. Then, as of Feb. 16, 2012, no player will have the option, period.
Already now, any player whose contract was signed after the ratification does not, and will not, have the option.

I was not impressed when The Tigercats cut him a few years ago after spring training, but then they smartened up and signed him not long after. There goes my favourite player on defense. Good thing I didn't buy his jersey it would have been obsolete like all the rest of them. Good Luck to you Garrett but I'd like to see you BACK IN BLACK & GOLD. Kevin Huntley here we come. Time for a D-line shake up.

bad for us, great for him. good luck and all the best Garrett.

It's hard not to love the way he plays.

Gotta agree with all the comments on McIntyre, the player and the person. If all of his Ti-Cat teammates had played with efforts matching his, Garrett would have to come back to The Hammer this season -- to pick up his ring!
