On a related note, if you’re interested in some pre-game Roughrider content, I just released a video on Kicker Brett Lauther and his incredible redemption arc. Check it out if you’re interested! If not, no worries

That was a great video thanks for posting it!! Brett’s season was a difficult one I’m proud of him for pulling through like he did. His star line was excellent and was skewed down mostly due to one game plus a few random misses and wind was a factor in at least one of them. And, there’s no one in the league is as creative or effective with short, onside kicks.

You do a really good job with your videos :+1:t3:

Thanks for the kind words! It means a lot!

I could probably make an entire video on Lauthers onside kicks alone  The guy’s gotta have a magic cleat he puts on to complete so many of them. I agree his stat line doesn’t tell you the whole picture! He had an elite second half of the season.

That’s a video I’d love to see!

SW winds to start the game in Winnipeg , 9 C , pretty warm for November.
West wind towards half time.
North - Northeast winds towards fourth quarter are predicted….not too strong all game .
Which end do you chose if you win the coin flip? Hmmmm
Usually snow on the sidelines for the West finals , not this time , looking forward to this one as always.

I suspect Mike O’Shea will almost be glad to lose the toss - and give Mace the unenviable task of deciding possession and field.

My Eastern prediction is fairly easy and I don’t have a horse in the field. Toronto should over-power the Mighty Regular Season Als. I choose Kelly over Fajardo, simple as that. All the other variable kind of nullify each other. Dinwiddie & Jason the Spaceman are about equal in coaching ability. Neither are great - both are good. Maas should be the Coach of the Year - but obviously he won’t be.

In the west - despite a sellout of over 33,000 the Bombers will have a most difficult evening subduing a rambunctious Rider group. In slightly cold and windy (expected) weather, a precision short to medium guy like Harris will overcome the post-season erratic play of Zach Collaros. Collaros will be going for bombs in windy weather. Could lead to lots of 2 and outs. Harris will end up with more yards passing than Zach plus prolly at least one more TD via the pass.
Running is now about equal. AJ Oullette is the new Ball of Hate, Olivera is Olivera. Both guys should run for 50 to 100 yds easy.

Slight advantage to Winnipeg in Coaching - but O’Shea is nullified because he’s such a great delegator. He rarely coaches in-game. Mace, like O’Shea is beloved by his players.

Lauther and Sergio about equal as FG kickers. Big advantage to Lauther in kickoffs and positional kicking. Not even close in short kicks. Lauther is the best in league - Sergio frankly has not been tested at short kickoffs.

Kick returns - huge advantage to Riders in Super Mario vs. the aging dreadlock guy with no burst in a Wpg uni. Wpg will have their hands full handling Alford and some creative blocking schemes the Riders have concocted.

Home Crowd - SUPER BIG ADVANTAGE TO WINNIPEG - but Trevor Harris is prolly the best guy in the league to counteract a noisy home crowd. The home advantage may however keep the score much closer than it should be.

In Sask the Riders would win today by at least 10.

Today - its a toss. But in the end - Harris vs. Zach gives me concern.
Sask by 2 to 5 in an erratic November nail-biter.

I figure make choices so as to have the wind at your back in the fourth quarter if you can do so at the coin toss.

Checked into the weather further and it’s predicted to be as good as can be expected for this time of year. Temp predicted at 11 game time with virtually zero wind.

Ya, not sure what others are talking about as far as wind…looks to be a non factor
I just hope the refs don’t play a role, let the teams battle it out - no ticky tacky penalties that aid in scoring drives

Bomber run game has to out perform Rider’s. Bully ball all day :muscle:

Good analysis. Wind can change - it often does in minutes on the prairies.
Bombers will have a difficult time out-running the Riders today. Rider’s o-line has a bit more power. Oullette may be 5’10’ + 240 lbs but he’s obviously faster than Olivera and just as powerful - if not more.
If Bombers had Alexander, Streveler, Kyries Wilson, Bighill & Dalton Schoen at 100% I’d certainly give Bombers a more than slight advantage today.
Today, less powerful and less intelligent guys have to be near positionally perfect for the Bombers to take the duke. Even if Harris had a 350+ yds passing game.

Key stats at the end will be TD thru the air (Favour SK)
Running average (Favour SK)
Pics (Favour SK 2:1 or somesuch)
Returns (Favour SK)
YAC yards on recepts (favour SK as their guys know one deep cut can shake off a Bomber tackler - who tend to be divers

You heard it here first, folks. Bombers don’t stand a chance, as usual.

I’d take WPG’s Oline & Brady over Sask
Sask has a better run D though. Tough to run on them, but we have to.
In otherwords, I pretty much disgaree with everything you said!

Wind blows 10 k minimum always in Manitoba doesn’t it?
It’ll be there but 10 isn’t much , good thing .
BB are a team that rises to the occasion , good coaching .

Sask left tackle Reid is out so might play a factor in the Rider run game. I think this one goes down to the wire.

Sooo, what you’re saying is the Bombers still have a chance?

I had some running around to do earlier - people lined up outside the LC’s.
I have a feeling the prairies are getting drunk tonight!

I’m ALWAYS beer prepared, I have a house fridge, garage fridge, and a bar fridge in the rec-room. I keep a minimum of a dozen in each… unfortunately too many of my friends know this. My brother shows up with an eight pack and then drinks 12.

Has to but will the Bombers do so.
Stay tuned it’s gonna be a great one.
