I gotta say, that new Stampede Cup Calgary has is a nice looking trophy. Maybe time for an update on the Ballard cup that looks as cheap as it’s namesake.
LoL !!! I was just going to comment on that . That Ballard trophy looks like something you would find on a table at a garage sale that has a sign on it saying ‘All items sold for $5.00 or less’ .
It’s petty embarrassing. I was going to go with “a dusty trophy in some old trophy case in some grade schools basement”

“Ballard purchased the trophy for a hefty $9,000”
That 1986 $9000.00 trophy if purchased today would be worth approx $26,400 in todays funds . That is absolutely crazy when you really think about it . 
I wouldn’t, hard to tell the materials from the picture though.
It’s probably the most ugly trophy in sports!
