This article is bang on. I’ve watched the CFL for 60 years and the depth and talent level of Canadian players is great and getting better all the time. Canadian college football has improved in leaps and bounds. It used to be that almost no one from a Canadian college made the CFL, now every year there are several who join the league and become stars as well as depth players. It used to be that good Canadian players would become almost exclusively CFL property, but today the NFL signs several each year coming out of college here and in the U.S. It’s good for those guys who can make some big bucks in the NFL, but I’m disappointed that don’t come to Canada, at least not away. And the NFL kicks some of these guys around from team to team like a badly deflated J5V (older fans know what that is). Example: Nathan Rourke. A great talent who never really got a good chance.
Actually after many a year of history the CFL has become predictable, the smallness of the league hampers it. There’s nothing exciting about watching a mundane 9 team sometimes 8 team league year after year, the league definitely needs a infusion of at least 3 new teams for it’s betterment - take your pick _Victoria, Saskatoon, Grand Forks ND, Fargo ND. (Both facilities in North Dakota have domed stadiums and are in very close proximity to Winnipeg Mb).
