Full-team effort pushes Riders back to .500

REGINA — The combined efforts of special teams and offence gave kicker Brett Lauther a chance to win the game as the Saskatchewan Roughriders took the field trailing by one late against the REDBLACKS.

‘Full team effort?’

Didn’t Saskatchewan squander a huge lead and try more than once to hand the game to Ottawa? Sheesh. It’s a good thing that I was thoroughly entertained and look forward to seeing these Cardiac Kids play in Montreal this Friday.

[/quote]There’s no such thing as an ugly win. What’s wrong, couldn’t get in to the post game phone in and whine show?

On the good side quarterbacking is just Fine in Saskatchewan, no problem. On the bad side these brilliant schedule makers give Ottawa a week between games and Sask. has to travel to Montreal and play in 4 days from now. Player safety? Yeah sure.

Agreed why give 4 days like that … just freaking stupid and bush league.

If both teams keep making that many mistakes cannot expect to win game vs the top three dogs in the 2023 season. Or for that matter, any of the other also rans.

I think team Green’s record is deceptive and complimentary to the team. The article in the OP is, shall we say, “optimistic”.

The Riders have yet to have a convincing win. Even their first game against the weakest team, the Elks, the Riders barely held on.

I’d love to see a Rider dynasty. This team doesn’t have the requisite pieces.

Any possible rider dynasty is at best 5 years away BEFORE we can even hope the think the team is good enough to have such a dynasty… Then the team has to actually maintain quality coaches and players for an additional 5 to 8 seasons

…but it was a fantastic win against the Red Blacks, who were on 4 days rest and on the road.

??? Ottawa played Friday July 28th and then in Sask Sunday August 6. How does this equate to 4 days rest for you??? Follow the league a bit before posting outright lies.

I’m not sure why a celebratory system thread is at hand for this fact. Slow news day?

OR are they celebrating that the Riders exited the Sad Sack Club!?

In any case, it’s a bit much but hey it’s August and there are plenty mailing it in from work this month.

I apologize that my having adhd ptsd and more that affects my memory offends you…I was looking at the game on the 23rd and the 28th for Ottawa…
