I believe Crompton will be still under contract with the Als when the season starts.

I can't bring myself to take this wager. I want him so badly gone but in my heart of hearts I'm not sure he will be.

Plus sérieusement, après avoir vu la progression de Bridge lors de la dernière partie de la saison, pour quelle raison les Alouettes garderaient-ils Crompton?

Because the Als went through seven QB's last season and KG is around 35 years old. The Als usually go to camp with four or five QB's so I suspect unless somebody they really like comes along, Crompton will at the very least be allowed to compete in training camp.
What does not help is Cato leaving the team last season (still unexplained).

He will not be with the team, it was even hinted at that he had some sort of chronic shoulder issue.
I think Madani had written the Als had 15 QBs on their neg list, so there will probably be 1 or 2 newcomers.
Even if they bring in some raw rookies, they would still give Crompton a head start If the Als get through Camp with a healthy Glenn and progressing Cato then they might contemplate cutting Crompton but I expect he will be with the team at least until the last training camp cuts at the earliest.
Pour ma part, je ne vois aucune raison pour garder Crompton. La seule chose que sa présence change, c'est qu'elle enlève du temps à Calvillo pour enseigner aux jeunes. Crompton ne sera jamais un bon quart-arrière. Ses faiblesses se sont maintenues l'an dernier et ses blessures n'ont pas fait de lui un meilleur athlète. Il demeure imprécis et incapable de se rendre à sa troisième lecture.
Oui, le retour de Carter pourrait l'aider, mais cet argument est vrai pour tous les quarts des Alouettes. En matchs préparatoires l'an dernier, Crompton n'était pas blessé et il était horrible. Lorsqu'il a entrepris la saison, il était horrible. Lorsqu'il est revenu, il a été horrible. Quitte à avoir un quart-arrière horrible, autant que ce soit un jeune qui pourrait apprendre à ne plus l'être plutôt qu'un quart qui ne sera jamais meilleur que ce qu'on a déjà vu de lui.

I don't like it either but a lot of things can happen between now and the beginning of the season. Glenn could slip on a Boston Cream donut or Cato could have business in Florida.

There are probably 200 quarterbacks without a pro contract that are better and cheaper than Crompton but none one of them has as much CFL experience...

Has Crompton been cleared after his season ending injury? Can he be cut until he fails his TC physical; or does he have to go on IRL until he is healthy?

Je n'ai pas écrit qu'ils avaient 4 années d'expérience, mais seulement DE l'expérience dans la LCF. Crompton aurait 10 ans d'expérience dans la LCF et il demeurerait un mauvais quart-arrière. J'avais certaines aspirations avec lui lorsqu'il en a fait tout juste assez pour que les Alouettes aient une fiche de 9-3 avec lui derrière le centre en 2014. Mais j'ai très vite déchanté lorsque j'ai constaté au dernier camp d'entraînement qu'il n'avait pas progressé d'un angström. Pire, il semblait plus perdu que jamais et n'a pas réussi à faire mieux au deuxième match préparatoire ni au premier match de la saison.
Chaque année passée à le faire jouer sera une année gaspillée à ne pas préparer un meilleur espoir, qui qu'il soit. S'il faut traîner du bois mort, pourquoi ne pas courir après Mitchell Gale ou Robert Marve? Ils ne feront pas pire que Crompton. Peut-être pas mieux, mais pas pire non plus.
The thing that makes Crompton such an easy target for me is the fact that he never took ownership of his poor performances. It was always "the whole offence has to get better."
Which makes you question how he self evaluates and is even fully aware of his weaknesses that he has to work on.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Crompton is a chuck-and-duck, cliché-spouting, CYA machine with the charisma of a brick wall and zero ability to read the field properly. I don't care how much CFL experience he has; he is not worth retaining. We have an adequate sample size of his work and it is not scintillating. Get rid of him, Jim, PLEASE. Let him take his vacuous BComs doubletalk somewhere else.
