For Grey Cup TV viewers.....

Some fun questions for you and to satisfy my curiosity:

  1. Will you be watching the game alone or with others? If with others, with friends, family, other?

  2. Beverage consumption? What and how much?

  3. Snacks: Pizza, chips, tacos/salsa, BBQ stuff, popcorn, full dinner [depends on time zone], other?

  4. Will you be watching the half-time entertainment?

5.Is your spouse a fan or will she be your "hostess" for the day?

  1. Who are you cheering for?

  2. Size of TV screen you'll be watching the game on.

  3. Will you watch the post-game celebration festivities or change channels as soon as the game is over?

  4. Do you have a Stamps or Argos "shrine" set up where you'll be watching or do you still have your original team favorite with R.I.P.?

DISCLAIMER: There is nothing "scientific" about these questions. Simply for entertainment value and shooting the breeze.

1 ) yes I will be alone ... unfortunately, I am away from home, at work and as such will "alone" for the GC (Bit of trivia fact ... last time I was away from home for the GC was 2008, Calgary vs Montreal and we all know how that turned out :rockin: )

2 ) Have to work tomorrow, so a few beers (2 -3) and then Coke for the rest of the evening.

3 ) Pizza, Chips, Chicken Wings and Fries

4 ) Undecided ... Probably be cooking the chicken wings!

5 ) Unsure ... she may watch the game at home, but she is recording it for me, so I can re-watch plays or incase I miss anything (the cable up here is notoriously bad ... kicks out all the time).

6 ) Stamps (would think that was obvious)

7 ) Unfortunately only a 32" 720P

8 ) Undecided ... depends on the outcome I suppose.

9 ) No shrine as I am away from home ... I even forgot to bring my jersey and Flag (traditionally, I hang my Stamps flag over my worksite in some obscure area that people have a REALLY hard time figuring out how I hung it and how to get it down, when they win the GC Guess I will have to do it "belated" this year)

Thanks MrLucky.

Anytime Beaglehound! I did have to come to work today ... Told the site we are shutting down an hour before kick off, so I/we can watch the game! That being said, I made sure I had all my work done yesterday, so I can get out of here ASAP to watch the game. So I get to sit and chat on the CFL Forum a bit while I wait for everyone else to finish their work!

:cowboy:
  1. Do have a standing offer to go watch a buddies house, however due to illness, most likely by myself.

  2. Probably just coke due to said illness (don't have much for taste buds)

  3. Snacks: Left over sandwiches (exciting... I know)

  4. Won't change the channel, but won't make an effort to pay attention to it.

  5. No spouse

  6. Neither team. Would like to see Glenn win, and wouldn't mind seeing the Argo's win either.

  7. 55"

  8. Likely, yes.

  9. No shrine.

Thanks Madjack for taking the time to reply. Appreciated. You too Dust. I'll ask you [Madjack] how many beverages you had sometime after the game if you're able to remember. I'm thinking for some guys, how much they drink will depend on who is winning. It will either be to block out or to revel I suppose.

Sorry to hear you're feeling sick Dust. Thats a bummer. :thdn:

  9. No.

My own responses for those who are curious:

  1. Will you be watching the game alone or with others? If with others, with friends, family, other?.................Alone this year. My wife is an avid if not rabid Lions fan. Unfortunately, she has out of town commitments. No doubt those could have been changed had the Lions made it. :?

  2. Beverage consumption? What and how much?.........Dr. Pepper. As much as my bladder will hold.

  3. Snacks: Pizza, chips, tacos/salsa, BBQ stuff, popcorn, full dinner [depends on time zone], other?..........potato chips, ice cream, anything else I can find in the cupboards.

  4. Will you be watching the half-time entertainment?....... not this time....for sure!

5.Is your spouse a fan or will she be your "hostess" for the day?........... She won't be with me this Grey Cup day. She would have made some nice snacks had she been home.

  1. Who are you cheering for?........Argos! Any other team in the West and it might have been a Western team. Sorry Stamps fans but it was the Stamps that rained on my parade last week and I'm still mourning the loss. lol

  2. Size of TV screen you'll be watching the game on.? ......... 52" Sony. Not long ago it was a 27" Hitachi.

  3. Will you watch the post-game celebration festivities or change channels as soon as the game is over?........Most likely. I always do regardless of who wins the Grey Cup. Either team will have earned it and I'll be happy for the team.

  4. Do you have a Stamps or Argos "shrine" set up where you'll be watching or do you still have your original team favorite with R.I.P.?.........Still have the Lions shrine set up in the living-room. I'm still in denial!

Nice Beaglehound!

:cowboy:
  1. A half dozen of my closest friends here in New Jersey.

  2. Good old Coca Cola, as well as Guiness and some Molson.

  3. Buffalo Chicken pizza, and chilli cheese dip.

  4. Sure, it's only 15 minutes. I can stand the Bieb for a quarter of an hour.

  5. Sadly not girlfriend or significant other

  6. I'm more of a fan of the league than any particular team (though I do have a fondness for Montreal) However, I feel the Argos have fate on their side and an Argo victory should only help the sport in Ontario.

  7. Big 70'inch HDTV

  8. Will have to drive some friends home, so most likely just the trophy presentation.

  9. Not yet, as I'm still a CFL novice but hoping to accumulate some gear very soon.

Cool laxtreme 56!

Watching it on a 70" has got to be blast!

Living in the US i am very happy to say that I will get to watch the game live !
By myself at home on my 42 in flat screen as I am sad to say nobody I know watches the CFL. As a kid in the 80's there was a group of us who were very interested and watched games and Grey Cups on ESPN.
Older now and with the lack of televised games over the past decade it is just me now I am sad to say.
I could go to my main watering hole sport bar but I would not be able to hear it though over the sound of the main NFL game that they will have on each of the major TVs.
Just and a pizza will be watching the game.
I hope that TSN, CFL, and NBCSN get get together and get a nice schedule of games and also get the special programs like engraved on a Nation also on NBCSN because only two of them so far are being aired via TSN webcast so far.
Canadian Football has always been one of my Fav sports to the poing now with Technology I have been watching CIS games. That brings to the next issue with TSN owning the exclusive TV rights to the National Semi's and Vanier Cup i was unable to watch any of them live. I may be pushing my luck but maybe TSN and NBCSN can also come with an agreement to show the CIS semi bowls and Vanier.

Are you American cflsteve? If you are I hope you will enjoy the game thoroughly. A lot of Canadians are fans of the NFL but I don’t hear much from the Americans about the CFL. It is great to hear. Enjoy. Let us hope that the players are allowed to play. Let’s also hope that the players can keep themselves under control and not take any cheap shots.

  1. Me and my 2 friends.

  2. Green tea for me, a couple of some weird craft beers for my buddies (Snuggler's Cove hazel-nut brown Irish honey malt lager or whatever else was on sale)

  7. 42" I know I could exaggerate like some others, but size doesn't really matter.

  8. Absolutely. That's the last live CFL until July!

  9. R.I.P.

  1. Will you be watching the game alone or with others? If with others, with friends, family, other?.................Alone this year.

  2. Beverage consumption? What and how much?.........maybe a couple of Canadians a little later on.

  3. Snacks: Pizza, chips, tacos/salsa, BBQ stuff, popcorn, full dinner [depends on time zone], other?..........having dinner soon, chips & beer afterward.

  4. Will you be watching the half-time entertainment?....... um....no.

5.Is your spouse a fan or will she be your "hostess" for the day?........... no spouse any more...thank goodness!

  1. Who are you cheering for?........Calgary. I like Kevin Glenn & want to see him get his ring. Ditto Marquay McDaniel, both former Ticats!

  2. Size of TV screen you'll be watching the game on.? ......... 55" LG HDTV.

  3. Will you watch the post-game celebration festivities or change channels as soon as the game is over?........yes, unless the Argos win.

  4. Do you have a Stamps or Argos "shrine" set up where you'll be watching or do you still have your original team favorite with R.I.P.?.........no shrine, but wearing a Ticats sweater. Go Stamps Go!!

Yup from the US and as I said have been CFL fan since it firsts appeared on ESPN in the early 80’s and am very happy that the Game is being shown live on NBCSN. I hope that TSN, CFL, and NBCSN can make its programing here in the states on equal ground with the MLS programing on NBCSN with promotion of the games during other programming and also show such TSN specials Like Engraved on a Nation and CIS semi games as well as Vanier Cup to go along with it.

  1. Alone, unfortunately. My wife isn't a sports fan, and can't stand football. Good thing she has other redeeming attributes.

  7. 36" old-style TV.

  8. Not sure yet. Might depend on who wins.

  9. Wearing my Ticats gear, have my 1999 Grey Cup souvenir football in hand (the one without the beer).
