As the 2023 season approaches, CFL.ca is here to catch you up with the Five Things To Know series. Each article will look at key storylines facing each team this season, while examining off-season movement and where your team might stand in 2023.
The only five things to know about the Anchors is that no matter how crappy they are in between they always seem to fumble and bumble their way to a Grey Cup victory every five seasons . They then have a parade that attracts five floats . The parade is attended by five fans . The season ticket base goes up by five people and lastly after it’s all said and done the team still remains entrenched in the number five hole in popularity in the city when it comes to supporting their pro franchises .
It’s not a requirement to have a great QB to win a CUP. Teams have had great QB’s & not won CUPs. (See 2022. The CFL passing leader, McBeth, also had a so-so outing). The Argos have a lot of weapons on offence & their D is VG. Orimolade led the CFL in pressures & he, not Lemon, made the CFLPA All-Star team @ DE. I’m not sold on Kelly but he just has to manage the weapons he has & he has the ability to move the sticks with his feet. The Argos should be fine.
Not sold on the Argos, the writers rated them number 2 in the power rankings but I see them as a close 3rd in the east battling the Als.
Another west cross over

[/quote]Argo fans may not be as numerous as those of other teams, but they are just as enthusiastic as any in the league. Winning Grey Cups every 5 years or so makes up for the bad seasons in between. Most gratifying is winning 7 straight Cup appearances, unlike the Tiger-Cats who have lost 4 straight (2 blowouts and 2 losses due to bonehead plays late in the game).
This may be Hamilton’s year to win the Cup though. Mitchell won’t cost the Cats 5 or 6 games due to dumb turnovers like Evans did last year, and with Butler they’ll have a great running game. Acquiring Davis and Edwards from Toronto will improve an already solid defence. Now if they can only avoid dumb mistakes in the Grey Cup…….
