First Win for the Als!

I was out last night but recorded the game; I'm just watching it now.

So far, so good! I think the key is having so many returnees; players who were able to gain some momentum and traction in 2019. Sadly in the CFL, you would need volumes of depth charts just to keep track of players checking in/checking out...

It's way too early to make any predictions going forward, especially in a shortened season, but the Als made a good first impression.

So at this point, an optimistic Go Als go!

The Als are 1-0, while the Ticats are 0-2! :grinning:

And on the Tiger-Cats forum you have Dane Evans' dad complaining the Tiger-Cats don't have enough offensive coaches. Not the best look.

Let's hope Vernon Adams Sr. doesn't find out about us. :grinning:

His dad is complaining on the forum?! Too funny!

Back around the Millenium, Khari Jones' old man would complain about his son's treatment here (I think he wanted us to pay him an extra million) using that ancient pre-forum app known as... um, I'll think of it in a sec... uhhhh... RADIO! We just turned the dial to 680 and let Bob Irvine give us the latest 'dad tirade'. A lot of us die hards still tune in before and after the game (RIP Cactus Jack). Can't beat our local crew.

In the Burn the Witches 2 thread. He's actually doing a disservice to his son Dane by posting in the forum.

Will we soon hear from Masoli's dad?

Sheldon, is that really Dane Evans's dad? Do we have confirmation of that?

IMO it's usually pretty tedious when friends/relatives of a player post here. All they're interested in doing is pumping their friend/family member irrespective of the situation. And they forget that we are fans of the team first and the player second.

Coach E is definitely Evans' dad. He's been posting for awhile. Some of the Tiger-Cat posters can confirm it. In a sequence awhile ago he was even pumping his son over Masoli. Certainly awkward.

But don't ban him D&P. :grinning:

It is true
He is a high school coach in Texas
He is very knowledgeable
He really should keep personal complaints to himself
I have deleted part of my post as I should not post my opinions about it

Yeah, I don't think they understand just how poorly it reflects on the person they're trying to champion. If the Cats ever got wind of it I can't imagine Coach O would be pleased at all.

Ray Jay! I wonder how he's doing these days.

It is his father but he isn't "complaining" he is making an observation. He is a class act and well appreciated contributor over there.

Probably enjoying his son's success. He's off to a hell of a start as a CFL HC.

I highly doubt he is appreciated by all Tiger-Cats fans. Do you read all the follow up posts? And did you read Grover's post further up this thread?

It would be like Shiltz's father coming on here asking why his son isn't starting over Adams. Or complaining about the Als staff, which Coach E did about the Tiger-Cats staff today. And also complained about Evans not getting enough reps.

I didn't say he was complaining; that was Grover, and Grover, being a Cats fan, is far more conversant with other Cats fans and their posting histories than we are. I was just observing, generally, that when friends and family of a player start posting here it almost always ends the same way. :stuck_out_tongue:

Keep it civil, folks. I've edited a couple posts.

Edit: If you see an objectionable post, best thing to do is report it, not quote it. The latter only spreads it in the thread and makes it harder for mods to clean up.

je t'aime mon petit lapin......that's all the french I know. All I needed to know, while dating a french girl many years ago. Got me out of trouble every time.
