How many people can remember their very first Alouette game they saw on TV ?
Mine was Saturday afternoon Oct.17, 1959 on CBMT channel 6 in Montreal.
Location was Toronto at then called CNE Stadium.
The score was like a hockey score. The Als won with a very late field goal in the 4TH quarter
Score was Montreal - 4 at Toronto - 3
The grey cup loss to BC because of a missed pass interference and a bad play call by maciocia on a 2 point convert
Me it was when Baltimore played Calgary in the Grey Cup, Canada vs USA. Of course, I was cheering for Calgary and was very upset they lost, but Baltimore would eventually become the Montreal Alouettes the following season, and I started to follow. They also became the Baltimore Ravens, but who cares about them 8)
But that was the game that got me into football, and it is ironic that the following year, my city would geta team, which would become my favourite since the first game I saw them play.
