Yup, when the season ends, Mike Sherman needs to be fired! He brings nothing to the team. He does not know the CFL game well enough to oversee his coordinators.
He also pretty much acts like a statue holding up a headset, while he’s on the sidelines. If a head coach cannot be an Xs and Os genius, he has to be a great motivator (like Pinball Clemons). Sherman is neither.
FIRE Mike Sherman!*
*After the season. There is no point in firing him now.
Mike O’Shea is like a junior version of Sherman. However, O’Shea coached a near-perfect game vs. the flustered statue Sherman. No question Sherman is struggling with both his own infirmity and the canadian game. Keeping him around for another season would be idiotic. But get the guy some better hogs (o-line) and rushers who can keep their balance, Kavis?
Probably thinks about it every day (who could blame him) but remember he brought his son in this adventure. So that would be a dick move to pull on his son.
I think he stays but he’s gonna make some changes to that coaching staff.
My advice to him bring Bryan Chiu in to coach the offensive line.
Actually he did extremely well in Ottawa. Their Offensive line took a major downturn since he left. Has nothing to do with name recognition. It burns me that HOF career guys like Flory and Chiu don't have a spot in the organization because they were Union reps. I really hate these owners.
Agree, last nite was the first game that the team played with some ethusiasm and thats on the HC.I dont see a lot of motivating going on with hm. He seems to act like a dugout general far away from the action. A motivational guy would really help our team right now.
Because he has never had a GM-like role ... hire a GOD general manager and let them hire their coach and let the coach hire their coordinators and position coaches.
Do you mean Marc (let's-punt-on-third-and-three-inches-from-the-redzone-two-yard-line) Trestman? Is that the guy you want running the Als empire??
Oy vey!
Trestman hates scouting and personnel stuff. He’s probably the worst guy you could place in that position and IMO would have zero interest in that. He’s already at the top of the CFL pay ladder and gets six months off every month, he’s also now 60.
This evasive response from Sherman Tuesday certainly doesn`t point to his returning in 2019.
Johnny Manziel plans to honour final year of Alouettes contract

There has been some speculation that Johnny Manziel might want to find a way out of the final year on his Montreal Alouettes contract to join the Alliance of American Football, but the star quarterback has cleared the air.
“I have another year of contract and I plan to come back for another year. I also want to get involved during the offseason, I want to keep in touch with guys who will come back. I’m thinking of doing some training in California or near here, building something. Nobody will love the taste that will stay in our mouths this year. The only way to fix things is by working,? Manziel told RDS.
Manziel signed a two-year pact in May through the 2019 CFL season. He’s due a $75,000 roster bonus on March 1 part of the compensation that could see the 25-year-old earn $202,000 in base salary plus another $150,000 in potential playtime bonuses. That’s a lot of money for a quarterback yet to register a victory in the CFL.
Manziel is 0-5 as a starter completing 72-of-116 passes (62 per cent) for 872 yards, two touchdowns against six interceptions while rushing 21 times for 139 yards. Montreal sits last in the CFL with a 3-12 record but Manziel has faith the organization can improve going forward.
While quite positive, nowhere does he state he's interested in signing an extension an only an idiot GM of a rebuild would start a QB in the final year of his deal.
As for Sherman, how can he answer that question? It really isn't solely up to him.
