Reasons to avoid coming online
to ticats dot ca after a game.

The sky is not falling, folks.

No it just Rains real Hard when we on the Road

I agree why is it I notice the guys with more posts on here are the ones who are taking the loss for what it is and people with less posts are taking the loss as the end of our season

We, the more frequent posters, realize
that teams seldom play flawless football

and understand that victory or defeat
can be traced to 4 or 5 turning point plays.

We know that sometimes these turning point plays
will be in our favour, and sometimes they won’t.

EVERY TEAM HAS 4 or 5 BAD PLAYS some games,
even teams in the midst of their dynasty years!!

On the day when these plays don’t go in our favour,
although we’re disappointed, we put it all behind us

and look objectively at the overall play our team.

When we lose these less frequent posters who create threads
fixating on some of our player’s misplays or our team’s misplays

are incapable of filtering out their emotions
regarding our team’s, or a player’s, performance,

and can’t see or won’t admit they saw
some good in the teams overall play.

I don’t bother pointing the good performances out
until they crawl back in their holes until the next loss.

Notice how few of them post after a Ticat victory?

Why give them the satisfaction of accusing me
of being a *Pollyanna, a sympathizer or an enabler?

*Pollyanna

A Pollyanna is someone who is blindly optimistic
about every situation, sometimes to the point of foolishness.

The term is typically used in a negative way, to describe someone
who cannot think about the more serious ramifications of various situations.

Someone who behaves like a Pollyanna
might be said to be Pollyannaish,

which is why you might hear statements like

“so-and-so can be so Pollyannaish about sales numbers.?

People vent after a disappointing loss.

This is a place for that.

Give them a day or two to let it out .

But the fact is a select group of posters wants everyone to be a Pollyanna or refrain from posting. Constructive criticism for a .500 team would seem reasonable. Disagreement on 2 QB’s who aren’t perfect would also seem reasonable. I’ll agree that most posts immediately following a game are filled with emotion however they aren’t always wrong. Praise and criticism are both magnified and should be taken with a grain of salt. I wish I could have seen the game as I have no idea how the team played based on the posts here. The one thing I do know is that based on the field position of Setta’s misses I’m not that concerned about him but the block makes me wonder if the line is doing its job

Is this a fact, or is it your opinion, AKT?

I don’t feel that way and I can’t recall anybody posting anything like that.

Constructive criticism for a .500 team would seem reasonable.

Disagreement on 2 QB’s who aren’t perfect would also seem reasonable.

I only wish there was more constructive criticism

and civilized debate on the pros and cons of our QBs
or the merits of all players, coaches and the front office.

I'll agree that most posts immediately following a game are filled with emotion however they aren't always wrong.

Praise and criticism are both magnified and should be taken with a grain of salt…

I can definitely agree with that.

I wish I could have seen the game as I have no idea how the team played based on the posts here.

The one thing I do know is that based on the field position
of Setta’s misses I’m not that concerned about him

but the block makes me wonder if the line is doing its job

I do feel that there are those that choose not to accept observations of the club should they be in a negative light. For a very long time its been a relentless refrain of “give them time to gel” and deriding anyone who pointed out the obvious fact of how bad a team we were before this season. Those same folks seem to believe we are a Grey Cup contender in spite of the fact its obvious we are a mediocre team that is in the initial stages of correcting longstanding football operations incompetence.

I believe there is much civilized debate regarding our QB situation. Not everyone is going to agree and the fact that we are a rebuilding team seems lost on many in their logic. Very few are saying Porter is a bad QB and very few are saying Glenn is a bad QB but there is much disagreement on whether development of a QB is prudent or even necessary. Only those that are taking personal pot shots at fellow posters are out of line and I’ve blocked 4 that insist on stooping to this practice leaving plenty to debate the merits of a veteran’s abilities and potential vs a sophomore’s abilities and potential and the effect both have on the team’s ability to win both presently and longterm

Agreed

Thanks, I still haven’t had the time nor is it likely that I will watch the VOD because of time constraints
