Really good article. I have heard a couple of other ex-players echo these sentiments & have obviously greatly under estimated Gittens value. One of those trades which appears to strengthen both clubs.
The key is Elks are going to have to address their defence in the upcoming FA. Their offence is looking in pretty good shape. With this trade they have saved $230K+ in bonuses that were due. With the fewest FA’s to deal with this year, they have a lot of money to spend even with the McBeth signing. I suspect they will be looking for some help on D - and they could use a kicker.
