Ferguson: Crum, Pigrome amongst QB options for REDBLACKS

After 17-weeks away from his game uniform, Jeremiah Masoli returned to the REDBLACKS starting lineup last Saturday. It came a week after Ottawa finally ended their 13-game home losing streak thanks to Tyrie Adams who somehow pulled off the task despite a later confirmed torn ACL.

I think regardless of who they bring in, the REDBLACKS have to look @ a future w/o Masoli - even if he comes back healthy. In the 4 games he played last year before the injury he put up yards but still was 0-4. Plus, though QB’s can play well into their late 30’s, these are 2 significant injuries & he will be 36 next year in August. If they don’t land a proven starter like Evans (why would BC give him up) or throw a truckload of money @ McBeth for what likely is one season, they really are in development phase.

It’s interesting, Marshall, that you would lump the Elks in the “swing for the fences” category. You seem to have more faith in their “stable” of QB’s than a good deal of posters on this site. Could they pry Ford loose? I would think the Elks would ask for more than the usual draft pick or 2.

Not a good situation in Ottawa right now.
