You're enjoying your day
Everything's going your way
Then along comes Debbie Downer.
Always there to tell you 'bout a new disease
A car accident or killer bees
You’ll beg her to spare you, “Debbie, Please!”
But you can’t stop Debbie Downer!
its a football site, could you maybe pretend that you have something to say about football.
I will not wear black to represents mourning for this year’s Tiger Cats
unless I combine the black with silver so this year’s Tiger Cats
can draw on the mystique of the original Bad Boys –
John Madden’s great Oakland Raiders teams of the 1970s.
We ain’t dead yet, oh ye of little faith,
alleged diehard fan Oskie Oui Oui Russ.
You may find you should have worn yellow as bright as the Sun
to show how you feel about what you witness on Monday.
I started the thread like a week ago, after the massacre last Saturday and before all the recent moves.
JFL in another thread about the team wearing white asked if I was the one who had suggested the wear black idea. That is why I updated the thread.
I have tried to be more levity-conscious, but I feel as though another poster before you was getting all Mother Teresa on me.
I was trying to be tongue-in-cheek after that initial post. Mea culpa.
I don't measure myself against anyone here regarding "loyalty" to the team. I don't have to. It is rather petty to do this in a general sense for people to engage in that kind of sniping. It's counterproductive. I know you feel the same way, Ron.
I knew, as diehard fans, you and I needed to feel rays of sunshine
from the football gods shining into the windows of the GMs office
and directly into the brains of the Offensive decision-makers, Russ.
and we were granted our wishes this week
in Marcel, Ron and the Katzenjammer kids.
What is not to like about that at this time of the season?
I felt these changes warranted wearing yellow
or silver and black but not the black of mourning.
P.S.
Russ, now I see why you started a gloom and doom thread a last week.
You were temporarily weakened after 4 games that reaped abysmal results.
Keep that chin up but don't lead with it, it wouldn't be a pretty spectacle.
The Ti-Cats made significant changes since his original suggestion to wear black in protest of a hopeless season. That's why Russ has now changed that suggestion to wearing white. We have our hope back.
even though I won't be attending the Labour Day classic in person I will be watching it on TV and I will be mourning what will likely amount to another loss by wearing black head to toe
