According to this web page,
http://www.rpsc.org/canadapost.htm
Canada Post will be releasing stamp two different Grey Cup related stamp series on Jun 29 (regular season opening day) and Aug 16 (35th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley?), and also a postcard series on the latter date. If you follow the link and scroll toward the bottom of the page, you can also see preview pics of a couple of the items.
I expect the post office to be full of CFL fans waiting to get theirs.

That is fantastic and thank you again , PiCat.
Just a dumb question. Why ELVIS? I didn’t know that he was a Canadian
I ordered my 5 packs of 10 [G.C. Ann.]
Buying these will show the P.O. that the CFL matters to a lot of people.
I wish the Mint would also release a coin , too.
It will be a cold day in hell before I will buy any Elvis stamps made in , Canada. :thdn: :?
What a fantastic promo. for the CFL.

The significance of June 29 was obvious to me, but I couldn’t think of anything CFL related about the 16th of August. Elvis died around the time I was born, and my mom’s birthday is also close to that time, so that was the first thing of any significance that popped into my head.

It may be that the largest ELVIS convention is held in Callingwood , [sp] Ontario , every year.
I am 99.9% sure that these CFL stamps will sell out , maybe in record time.
People should order [or buy at their own P.O.] well they still can get them.
The SASK. , 100th Ann. coin sold out. Even I , bought 5 of those.

In this June 7 article Cohon is quoted as saying “Shortly, we’ll be announcing some initiatives with the government around collectibles, coins and stamps.”

I thought I read about 100th Grey Cup coins on the mint’s own website, but I can’t find anything about it there now.
I don’t know what you’ve got against Elvis by the way. It’s been rumoured that he’s still alive, residing in Tweed, Ontario, which applied for a CFL franchise in 1996. I’ll bet Elvis was behind the application!

   I think that Canadian stamps should be about Canadian things
Are you aware of any other CFL stamps [on this large scale] released ever or in the recent past?
These should be collectors items same day.

Believe it or not, I was actually related to Elvis by marriage until my cousin, who married the grandfather of Lisa Marie’s children, died. I LOVE telling that story

I just ordered a proof set.
Nothing on the RCM web site about a coin series
Pretty disappointing really. There is something for the 100th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede, and the 200 anniversary of the War of 1812, but nothing for the 100th Grey Cup. I wonder why not?

Even the Riders got a coin for their 100th anniversary.
The stamps look great though. I’ll have to pick up a set when they’re released.

In one of my posts above, there is a quote from the Commish saying that there will be coins. Note that the Roughrider loonie was not released until September, so they're not behind schedule yet compared to previous coin releases.
