Toronto at Edmonton
4:00 PM et
Chad Owens is expected to return for Evil in Saturday's tilt. Anytime Ricky Ray heads back to Edmonton, one can expect a little more fire in the tank. It should be a statement game for Mike Reilly and company. We shall see.
Oski Wee Wee,
More on the Chad Owens reactivation can be found at http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=459987 .
Oski Wee Wee,
I just flipped on TSN2 and there was Rod Black announcing LPGA. So we probably won't have to listen to his horrendous football play by play this weekend.
Cool! Probably Gord Miller will be in the mix today or tomorrow.
Like las,t night a strong defensive start and not much offense. TO recovered forced fumble off Nichol's but Ray went 2 and out. Two casualties so far- the umpire (again)!) and Reilly's hand. Nichols still in. Eddie Steele with a sack (already!) And the Blew with another fumble recovery!
Blew finally get a drive going ending with a Barnes TD 7-0 Blew
Nichols hand off to Lawrence and the foot race was on - just "blew" past the Blew defenders for the EE major. Tie score 7-7.
Ricky runs for a FD but then is picked off by MCoil on the next play. Not going well for the Blew -
just breaks my heart
Well that was a costly pick! Quick toss to Guyton who runs it in pretty much unopposed for the TD 14-7 EE
Two and out RR who was sacked - again - Great game - for everyone but the Blew fans!
For those on the site who seem particularly enamoured with the prospect of somehow prying one from another club, Nichols demonstrates why good organizations DO NOT trade CFL-ready backups because of…injuries to starters, which happen. Ugh. LOL
You get #3s or pavement-pounding FAs…that’s the recipe in mid-season.
Shaw misses a 44 yd FG attempt but with the EE time count violation it becomes a replay and a 49 yarder - which he makes! Go figure! 17-7 EE
EE defense is definitely rocking. :rockin: :rockin: :rockin: Must have listened to Jones pre-game speech! pass deflection recovered and returned for a TD for a 24-7 EE lead
OUTSTANDING defence by Edmonton!! Ray and co. are shellshocked!
RR hasn't a hope of getting 300+ yds in THIS game to hit 50,000 for his career.
Sad part is he could do it on Labour Day - unless the Ticat D can play like the EEs are playing!
If a Hamilton QB -- or most QBs on other clubs -- had the same disaster going on as Ray here, the broadcasters would be all over it.
THIRTYBURGER on the grill! 31-7 Esks!
Looks like Jones stole a page out of Austin's playbook, putting 3rd stringer White for 2-3 plays.
Nichols returns for one then White returns to run in the TD! 31-7!! EE :rockin:
Ah yes but it is Ricky Ray and he has proven himself!
Waters hits from 36 yards for Evil – the FG makes it 31-10 Edmonton. Halftime.
