Esks re-sign Mitchell, add Fred Stamps

EDMONTON (CFL.ca wire) – The Edmonton Eskimos have re-signed import slotback Mookie Mitchell, the club announced on Tuesday.

In his third year as an Eskimo, Mitchell started 15 games and made 70 catches for 892 yards and one touchdown. He had four games with 100-plus receiving yards this past season, including a 161-yard performance in Winnipeg on Canada Day. The three-time CFL All-Star inked a deal for one year plus an option.

The Eskimos also signed rookie wide receiver Fred Stamps. The Louisiana-Lafayette product spent time with both Baltimore and Jacksonville in the NFL.

Mookie has done pretty in Edmonton since he was deemed too old to play for the Argos. They would have been a better off keeping him instead of bringing in Robert Baker...but we all know about hindsight.

these signings will allow the esks to take the cup!! :thdn: :thdn:
