Ron Lancaster's grandson was released today, I know alot people saw this as a feel good story and were reall pulling for him, too bad he couldn't make the cut, I really hope he has a future in this league
side note: PK Sam was released by the blew team today, I thought for sure he'd make the team, anyone know if he was injured or had a off the field problem?
According to this story from Rob Vanstone at the Leader-Post, it sounds like things more or less worked out the way he wanted and expected them to . In particular, he says
I hope to get another opportunity next year, but my focus is now back to — and it never left — winning the Vanier Cup with the University of Regina Rams.
The "and it never left" part of the quote makes me think that his intentions all along were to return to the Rams, and that this was part of his own personal development that would give him a better chance at achieving his goal of winning the Vanier Cup.
It sounds similar, yeah. Have you heard anything lately about Quinlan? I read some bits about him near the beginning of training camp, but haven’t seen anything since. Obviously he’s not going to crack the roster, but it’d be interesting to hear how it went (or is going) for him.
I asked about it on the “main” CFL Talk forum, but there was only one response, and that person didn’t know. I knew that Meuller was playing with the Esks, but I didn’t realize until after he got released that he was there primarily to develop for the CIS game. It’s possible, then, that other teams are doing it too, but people don’t realize it. It’s not restricted to QBs, I don’t think, but that is probably the position where it’s needed the most.
Havnt heard anything recently no, all I know is he is going to be their for the whole camp and gets to do everything with the team except play pre-season games, this will be very valueable in his Senior year at Mac, we had Sinopli in camp last year for 3 or 4 days and he had an amazing year at Ottawa so heres hoping that Quinlan can achieve the same success, he also will get a full Camp experience unlike Sinopli did, which might make a huge difference
