A feel good story for Ayers for sure.
Though in a hockey perspective, they could have literally put a pylon in goal and the result would have been the same.
The Leafs had no pressure all night with the exception of 2 quick goals on 2 shots. Could not sustain any possession in the offensive zone, turned the puck over on their end frequently. Gave up multiple breakaways during their powerplants.
Keefe should have called a time out on the 5-3 goal as something was clearly in their heads.
Ayers will be the talk of the Town and that’s a good thing. It’s the story that over shadows the worst Leaf performance in over a decade.
There wasn’t enough waffles in the world to throw on the ice after that abysmal effort.
