Elliot Lake a Hotbed of Tiger-Cat Fanaticism

A flying inspection visit by this this reporter has discovered that Elliot Lake boasts the North's greatest Ti-Cat fan.

Not surprisingly (considering the 'Cats recent record) this fan - Wilf by name - was characteristically humble as he ensured that this reporter had supper - followed by a personally escorted tour of the town, fine conversation, a nice bed, and a morning tour of the beautiful countryside.

It was generally agreed that the old days were the best days... although a somewhat different set of 'old days' was being referred to by the participants in the conversation.

The 'Cats recent woes were analyzed in detail and brilliant analysis led to detailed recovery plans for the team. The same was done for Ontario, Canada, and the world.

Before delusions of grandeur set in permanently, this reporter left content and enlightened. All in all, a wonderful visit to a great town and a great fan.

Your preaching to the converted…lol.

Sandy and I had a great visit with him and his lovely wife last year.

Seems to me we covered the same bases!

Elliot Lake is indeed a beautiful place and it has grown in leaps and bounds…no doubt in no small way by the addition of energetic and outgoing people like Wilf!

Call it Tigertown North! :rockin:

Aw....shucks!

Didn't tv fisherman Bob Izumi basically buy up the town when the mine closed and redevelop it all for seniors? Bob is a Cats fan.

An Argo-Cat fan

And just down the road from the City of Elliot Lake there is a mining town called Sudbury which also has its share of hardcore Tiger-Cat fans. I was one of 'em who lived there for 26 years.

Way to go Wilf!!!

Maybe Bob Izumi will cut a deal with Bob Young to bring the TiCats to Elliot Lake for one game a year. They could sell the games in five year packages, stick in a few exhibitions, market them on his fishing show, bundle with Sudbury Wolves games...

Nah, that's just crazy talk.

Well, as another one who has had the pleasure of the hospitality of Wilf and his wife when in Elliot Lake, allow me to add my 2 cents..............oh I just did.

You guys are making it sound as if I hold open house for any Ticat fan who heads up this way....

Yeah, well what's wrong with that?

If you're headed this way, just pm me. I can introduce you to the friendliest city in Ontario.

Now, on to the game..Oski-wa-wa...

Wilf:

Sounds like an offer that's hard to refuse!
