HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have acquired OL Kyle Saxelid, LB Grant McDonald and the second overall selection in the 2022 Canadian Football League Global Draft in exchange for the eighth and 28th overall selections in the 2022 CFL Draft, along with the ninth overall selection in the 2022 CFL Global Draft.

Surprised to see Saxelid leave. He's played G & both T spots his 1st 2 seasons. Had 10 starts, mostly LT last year & 6 in his rookie year. Great addition for the TiCats who need help on OL. McDonald was a really good ST for them last year as a rookie. Moving up to 8th gives the Elks a shot @ 2 highly ranked players so we'll see what Jones & Simon do with that. Overall, a pretty good trade for both clubs in a weak draft depending how the draft picks turn out.
