Looking at how ford played last season and this season it really begs the question what in tarnation were the elks thinking in benching.
Like the team was so clearly better, they should legit fire everyone even if they finally decided to play him.

That’s the kind of game that will bring fans back, win , lose or draw, good, hardnosed entertaining football.
Well I’m not sure what to think.
Every dog (elk) has its day?
Riders aren’t as good as I thought?
Edmonton not as bad as I thought?
Teams are finding their stride mid way through the season and the ones that seemed to have it, the spread isn’t as big?
Any team can win any day. BC beat SK 3 weeks ago then SK handled Winnipeg pretty dominantly then the Peg shuts out and shuts down BC.
Then the Tre Fords elks come to town and he performs like a vet and Leake gets 3 TDs and about 500 yards rushing.
Very inconsistent. Though I won’t call for any heads I think teams are just getting better as the year goes on.
Baffles the heck out of me. When you are losing usually you pull out all the stops to start winning.
They got away with the “rebuilding” thing up to this season. But with a new owner on the horizon, it seems obvious they had a chat with our former head coach and didn’t get the answers they wanted.
Accountability for management and coaches has been missing here for a while.
But like even last year they were winning with ford. Like for goodness sake they were 0-8 without him and 4-6 with him in an 18 game schedule that is a playoff team in the west yet they decided to start the year to be like hell to the no on this.
…and the HC was hating every minute of it.
I - don’t get it. Apparently our new owner didn’t get it either…
Parity? The top 2 teams in the West are on 2 game losing streaks - #3 may join them tonight. The bottom 2 both won. Is this the beginning of the Rider decline, now losing 3 of 4 - don’t think so but it looks eerily familiar. Is this the ascent of Ford who won 3 of his 1st 4 starts last year? Dunno. Is Winnipeg going to make a run? Dunno.
All I know at this point is the 3 top dogs in the East, as per stats the 1st 8 weeks, are 11-1 vs the West which continues the dominance of East over West from last year. And if Kelly & Fajardo both are back for the 2nd half that isn’t going to change. As for the West, it will likely be a dogfight for the last playoff spot - forget the crossover.
It was similar to that, but not as graphic😜
Hmmmm…I remember someone saying that before the season started. There is more parity than there has been for a long time.
The next 6 weeks should be pretty interesting…
It tells me that the talent in the CFL is not as balanced as it could be when it takes until week 9 to have no winless teams.
On paper it looks like the Riders have the toughest schedule - @ Ottawa, then the Als & Argos before going into the Labour Day doubleheader. The Riders IMO need to win in Ottawa. Fajardo may be back in 2 weeks & the game with the Argos should be Kelly’s 1st.
Not trolling!… just listening to Riders post game radio shows for fun because that’s a normal thing to do for a member of an opposing fan base
ABC;
Its very entertaining listening to the Riderville fanbase on their post game call in shows. As a huge CFL fan across the board its fun to listen to the opinions of the people from all teams who support their CFL franchise organizations. Always something to ponder with fanbase insights, very interesting info, for the good part of it. Riderville, passionate supporters.
Yes the drunk bozo fans tend to come out of the woodwork for ANY TEAM when there is a loss. I heard the bomber radio call ins for the last few losses before they started to win too
I heard the Cowtown fans also saying heads needed to roll all last season and this season too.
Again you do troll one team when you claim otherwise.
The ticst fans here have been open rebellion for quite some time too
Trolls are about as useful as a bag of broken hammers.
…do they ever…
…and now they have cell phones so they don’t have to make it home to call in…plus…you have to remember, Riders fans have suffered a lot of disappointments at the hands of the Elks over the years.
There’s a lot of frustration when they lose a game like yesterdays.
The Riders are building something now. They have a capable coach at last. Little doubt they will learn from yesterdays game and be a lot tougher when they meet again in October.
I swear, if callers after losses had to pass any soberiety tests there would be two calls per post game show
I tried to call into the CKRM postgame show from Toronto once. Didn’t work.
The worst part about the call in clowns is most of them weren’t at the game and probably have never been. The beer fridge is right next to the TV and easy chair Intelligence decreases with the amount consumed.
