Elks release National WR Tevaun Smith

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Elks have released National wide receiver Tevaun Smith.

Smith, who hails from Toronto, spent both of his CFL seasons with Edmonton after three seasons in the NFL, which featured stops in Indianapolis, Oakland, and Jacksonville from 2016 to 2018.

Lucky for him, now he won' t have to try and explain to people what an Elks is..

he's a good receiver. Has anyone heard what caused this?

Apparently no reason other than Jones thinks he has better options. Mike Jones & Shai Ross both saw a lot of action with the old regime. Did they show better on film? IMO Jones is leaning on putting QB Beaudry on as TE. He's 6'5", 248 & ran a 4.9 40, & Vandervoort has reportedly been very good in camp. Maybe just too many Nationals with Cobb there too. I like Smith & he should land somewhere fairly quickly.

Thanks.

What do I know. They just signed National WR Rashaun Simonise. :slightly_smiling_face: So much for that.
