Elks' Playoff Hopes

Let's do this. Miracle 4-0 finish, finish 8-10, crossover, now we're playing Montreal in the East Semi.

How far do we go?

Ah, I see where this post went off the rails. You put the 'Elks' in the same sentence as the words 'Playoff Hopes'.

(Sorry. Couldn't resist)

Okay okay. Gotta stop being a jerk and take this seriously.

Ahem. If you're playing Montreal in the East Semi then obviously your Elks got there by somehow putting all the right pieces together at just the right time in order to go on a winning streak that included victories over Montreal, Winnipeg, Toronto and BC. Given THAT scenario it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that your opponents out East would be crapping their pants should you beat out Saskatchewan for the crossover spot. You'd just beaten BOTH of them a couple of weeks previously to get where you are.

The odds against this happening are huge (a 100 to 1 maybe?) so if you've got a hunch you wanna play and some spare change kicking around then go out there Talmudicdeer and make some 'doe'.

You are also assuming the Riders go 1-3 or worse...... There are hopes but they are more than skinny - they are damn near invisible.

If I'm reading the standings right, if we win all three games left, Sask doesn't win any, and if Hamilton wins only one, we cross over.

Here's for an upset of the Bombers this evening!

Chances are slim and none that Elks make the playoffs and slim just left town!

Wow! Congrats on having gotten this far in your near impossible quest to make the playoffs Elks fan! Saskatchewan has left the doors open thanks to O'Day's stubborn insistence that offensive lines can't be upgraded this close to the end of a season.

All that has to happen now is a perfect finish for the Elks and total implosian by the Riders!

They have problems winning 1 in a row let alone 3.

Stick a fork in these bozos, they're done!

They're done like dinner. I guess the pressure's off for Chris Jones to make the playoffs... THIS year.

In a whole season this team has got about half a dozen guys that are worth keeping and Cornball isn't one of them. :face_vomiting: :face_vomiting:

Fajardo and Evans might be available...

If that's first and second prize I'd hate to see third! Wait a minute, I've been watching him play for Edmonton.

Sorry you had to see that bloody spectacle unfold at IG Field this evening Talmudicdeer. Your herd got eaten alive. Must've been tough to stomach. You'll be glad to hear that Bambi swung a deal to live another day by pointing out Rudolf's hiding spot (in the parking lot behind the East side recycling bins). :+1:

Well, it was fun being optimistic while it lasted.

I don't care if the elks have extended Cornelius's contract for 2 or 20 years or if he can throw the ball from his 1 yard line to the opposition's end zone, the Elks need an efficient quarterback for next season. Everybody but Chris Jones knows where the problem is. One good long throw here and there followed by game-losing throws is never going to move this team from bottom of the League!

To be fair - he put a lot of balls in receivers hands that were dropped last season. Now he has more than one receiver who can catch the ball regularly we are gonna put even good defences in trouble.
