Elks name Rick LeLacheur as interim president and CEO

EDMONTON — Rick LeLacheur is returning to the Green and Gold.

The Edmonton Elks announced on Tuesday that LeLacheur, who previously enjoyed a decade of success as the club’s president and CEO from 2002 to 2011, is returning to the Double E to serve as interim president and CEO effective immediately.

Well I wish him a world of luck in turning this club’s fortunes around. The CFL needs the ELKs to stay in the League. As the interim CEO/President, maybe he should start by looking for another GM & HC ! Because with Chris Jones at the helm the organization isn’t going anywhere.

the LeLacheur name is pretty prominent in Edmonton; with 8 games left, and a possible crossover playoff spot, I am not sure he’s gonna pull the plug on Jones if for no other reason than cap space

Jones is probably there for a while.
He has two more years left on his contract (after this one).
And in today’s CFL it’s hard to break contracts like that…even coaches/executives.

Gee, maybe Hugh Campbell is available to revive the elk.
