Elks defeat Tiger-Cats for third-straight win

HAMILTON — The Edmonton Elks excelled on the road with a 47-22 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Tim Hortons Field Saturday night.

A majority of teams in the CFL West are making a charge to the top of the standings in their respective Division while some regress backwards to the basement, as football fans you should know who they are by reading between the lines.

Or in the case of the East, are already in the basement :ok_hand:

I am disappointed that Hamilton has not replaced Mark Washington. He only knows one defensive scheme: prevent. Which 8 other teams know, so they just chip away on TD drives.

I think the whole organization of management needs to be replaced, starting from the top down from GM/President to all their Coaching staff. Total revamp of everyone. The Owner needs to wake up :100::boom::point_left:

I think Orlondo Steinauer is a better coach than president and he was a crappy coach.

Last night’s game with the Edmonton Elks was a huge embarrassment to all Hamilton fans (of which I have been one since 1962 . . . when Winnipeg beat Hamilton in “the Fog Bowl” (and for which I am still seeking revenge against the Blue Bombers)) and not just to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats themselves.

Coaches do not play football games: the players play the game. Therefore, changing senior management and coaches will have no immediate effect and is nothing more than a panic move.

Some players (Mitchell, Powell, Peters, etc.) are playing well, despite making mistakes. Other players appear to be showing up, but seem not to be playing with brains or commitment. It is no longer enough for a players to say that they need to cut back on mistakes, on penalties, etc., but instead, it is time for ALL the players to put in 100% effort for an entire game . . . and then to do it again in the next game . . . and the next game . . . and … If any player does not do so, then that player should be replaced.

Also, much better defensive schemes must be devised and applied well and consistently throughout each game, not just for a quarter or two.

Finally, there is a guaranteed way that the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will not suffer such a humiliating loss as last night . . . or at all: Hamilton should just forfeit all of their remaining games in 2024. This is not an ideal solution (to put it mildly), but it will avoid further embarrassment to the Tiger-Cats and to their diehard fans this year and will allow the necessary and longer-term changes to be made in order to have a team that plays well, that wins more games that it loses and that, when it loses a game, makes the game close and thrilling.

As an EE season ticket holder I’ve walked a mile in your shoes, hopefully with new ownership some fresh air will be what we need to get things back on track in Edmonton.

Hamilton has a LOFT problem. Lack of Friggin Talent . It is the GM/President’s job to assess and sign and keep talented players. Any observer of the league knew Bo was finished but we have wasted 2 years now. That is on Steinhauer. Too many ex-Ticats having impact on other teams. That is on Steinhauer. He rolls the dice on signings like he use to roll the dice coaching. Bad managent will sink any team. Thank goodness the fan base is the best in the league or otherwise the attendance would be half. As for Powell playing well. He has only played about 1.5 games so a little early to say but maybe.

Is it just me, or are the teams this year able to beat any other team? Looks to me that the 3-7 teams can beat the 6-2 teams and vice versa on a good day.

I think the east standings will end up the way they are the west is to close to call right now

Hey Hamilton Tiger Cats fans it’s Mr. Wodgers here_ can you say Mr. Chris Jones? Mr. Chris Jones. I knew you could.

(*Hamilton Tiger Cats need to turn over the reigns and the key to the team to Mr. Chris Jones.)

Yup. Next six weeks should be crazy - we may see some top to bottom changes in the standings.

Just like the 0-7 Esks HAMMERED the riders and lions back to back weeks
