Elks bring back OL Brett Boyko, extend DL Jacob Plamondon

EDMONTON — The Elks have signed offensive lineman Brett Boyko to a two-year contract and extended defensive lineman Jacob Plamondon through the 2025 season, the club announced Monday.

Good deal. Plamondon did everything from playing full back to D-Line last year, filling in where he was needed.

All good moves BUT my concern through all this is, we have had a lot of very good athletes and football played through here in the last couple years.

The winning we did with Ford the end of last season is really all those guys in their second and third year starting to really “get it”.

I just dislike seeing guys like Tony Jones who was signed by Winnipeg, get away when they are finally getting to the level they will be valuable players.

But that is the cfl. every team loses guys thry invested time into. The cap dictates this

It does for sure…funny to me though that Free agency has for the most part turned into a hunt through the bargain bin.
Reducing the number of free agents would make for better deals and more teams retaining their Canadian talent but…it is what it is…
