Duron Carter on verge of signing with Riders

Multiple sources say receiver Duron Carter is on the verge of signing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The deal will likely not include any upfront money and could see the 25-year-old make around $130,000 in 2017. Carter has been telling friends he plans to sign with the Riders.

Carter was released by the Montreal Alouettes last October after being embroiled in some controversy during the 2016 season. He was suspended one game for bumping Redblacks coach Rick Campbell after scoring a touchdown in a game on June 30 and was involved, along with cousin Kenny Stafford, in a practice confrontation with quarterback Rakeem Cato.

That prompted Carter’s former teammates to speak out about the enigmatic receiver.

Still, Carter is undeniably talented and gives the Riders another dynamic American playmaker to pair with Namaan Roosevelt

For $130,000? That is a good deal for the Riders. You just have to hope that he has finally matured. Even if there still some of the old Duron left, at least you did not overpay.

I have little faith he has...but his release may have been a wake-up call. none the less....it is supposedly 130 with no signing bonus....so little risk to a team if he is an issue

Duran and Jones ........ should be fun.

This is a nice flash back.

Thanks for the nice USFL photo VERM.
