As predicted by Dave Da Hammer here and I concurred - that arm is shot for the long ball and you can't be a quarterback in any pro league with no arm or reasonable accuracy for such throws.

I expected this, but Damn, S.O.B, and sob. 
...20 year NFL career, that it pretty amazing in itself, let alone the numbers he racked up...really did a lot for the NO community too, definitely a pay-it-forward guy...

Kudos to Brees for making this decision and announcement well in advance of next season. Dont expect I will ever have another favorite NFL only QB. He is it for me.
Others I have, do, and will like, but none better.
