I just seen on the TSN ticker the Bombers have officially released Derick Armstrong…

I think he ends up in TO or BC
I hope not… I would like to see him in Hamilton, but the tougher question will be who will be released to make room for him…

If a Scott Mitchell for Derick Armstrong trade had been proposed a few weeks ago, many Ticat fans would have wanted the team to jump at the chance. Now both players have been released and Mitchell has signed with the Bombers. In looking whether to sign Armstrong, the Ticats need to quickly consider whether his talent and experience can help the team more than his attitude and his bad knee can potentially hamper the team.
I see that DJ Flick is also on the free agent list. It would be awesome to sign him if we can’t get Armstrong.
I'm not to sure about picking this guy up...seems like a real prima-donna type... we really don't need that.

Gotta agree with Naylor,
Armstrong was close to retirement and came back as a leadership role. Many question his mobility and problems with his knees taking pain injections.

If Armstrong stays unemployed for more than a month. I'll be convinced there is collusion going on in the CFL. Joe Smith, Printers, Flick, Armstrong, Claybrooks, Armour all unemployed. I'm not buying it... CFL better be carefull...

Maybe Greg Marshall can sway Obie one way or the other. Marshall obviously knows Armstrong better than anyone here. I'd talk to Goodspeed also. Sometimes a change of scenery can rejuvinate a career. :cowboy:
