HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats secured some quarterback depth on Monday by signing Matthew Shiltz to an extension. The 3o-year-old was set to become a free agent on Feb. 14.
I like Shiltz and wish him all the best for this season. I haven't heard what Evans is doing for this upcoming season - is he under contract still or a free agent? He too has good skills, but could use a year with a guy like Bo. If the plan is for him to leave, I hope Hamilton gets someone good in the deal.
IMO Evans is in tough. If the Harris deal goes through on Feb 14 & McBeth comes back, the Als are the only landing spot & IMO Fajardo, who has a connection with Maas, likely ends up there.
Dane may have to take a backup role. I completely agree with you. He could do a lot worse than backing up Mitchell. It would be great for both Evans & the TiCats. I hope that's the way it turns out for you.
